MANCHESTER UNITED v FULHAM

8pm The Premier League is back on BETDAQ Betting Exchange It hasn’t felt like a long summer with Euro 2024 on, but it’s superb to have the greatest league in the world back and we’re going to start with a dramatic game at Old Trafford. After all, what fixture at Old Trafford these days isn’t dramatic? Manchester United start a new season full of hope and expectations but they face more question marks than ever. It wouldn’t be a shock to see Fulham come away with a win here, especially after some of the performances we saw from the home side here last season!

Manchester United come into the game as the odds on favourites, but there are plenty of willing layers. They finished eighth on the home form table last season, but most of their defensive errors came away from home. There are plenty of issues with Erik ten Hag to deal with this season, most notably their issues at the back. They finished last season with an average xG conceded of 1.73 which is higher than their chances created at 1.51. In the Premier League, only three sides conceded more chances – West Ham, Luton Town and Sheffield United. Two of those got relegated, and David Moyes lost his job at West Ham. You just know too that if ten Hag starts poorly there’s going to be hugely pressure from the UK media.

Manchester United are trading 1.58 with Fulham 6.1 and the draw is 4.8 at the time of writing. Fulham actually won 2-1 here in February, it was a very dramatic game with a winner in the 97th minute! Obviously at the start of the season every fan has new hope, but it’s hard to get excited about this United side. They still have issues with their defenders and midfield – it’s going to take multiple transfer windows to sort that out and give ten Hag the squad he actually wants. Fulham were quite average last season – they conceded more chances than they created but that’s not unusual for a mid-table side, and in fairness so did United!

For me the jury is definitely out on United heading into this season, and I couldn’t put anyone off opening the season with a small home lay at 1.58. They played well in the Community Shield at the weekend but Pep Guardiola opted to play an under-strength XI and we did see a massive drift on Manchester City before kick off. I just feel we’ll see a closer game than the odds suggest here, but as always with United Over 2.5 goals is a very nice option. That’s trading 1.52 and against a side that likes to play an open game too, I would be surprised if we didn’t see goals here in what should be an open and entertaining game. It will be fascinating to see how United defend!

The Striker Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.52 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
