WREXHAM V NOTTINGHAM FOREST

7.30pm The FA Cup Third Round kicks off on Friday night with a massive weekend ahead on Betdaq Betting Exchange! We have four fixtures Friday night before a crazy Saturday, and the focus is on Wrexham hosting Nottingham Forest. Obviously Wrexham are an easy pick for a TV fixture in the early rounds given their famous owners. In fairness, the club has had fantastic success off the back of the TV documentary and they continues to climb up the English domestic ladder. Although they are having a very solid season in the Championship, the gulf in class is still massive here.

It will be interesting to see how Nottingham Forest get on here – on paper, they will be expected to win in a Championship v Premier League fixture. Forest got back to winning ways midweek away to West Ham in a massive relegation battle. As I said in my preview of that game, that was a must win game for West Ham if they were going to have any chance of staying up. That’s gone now, Forest now have a nice seven point cushion on West Ham. It’s not a surprise to see Sean Dyche’s men come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.89 with Wrexham 4.5 and the draw is 3.8 at the time of writing.

Nottingham Forest have been through a lot this season – it already feels like an age ago that we had Ange Postecoglou in charge! Obviously the owner has made a lot of snap decisions, the ironic thing is they are creating more than last season when they finished in a European spot. Expectations have rose as they massively over-performed, and that has basically been the problem this season. Their average xG created was 1.28 last season and this season it’s 1.46 – but the difference is they aren’t converting those chances and last season they massively over-performed up front and at the back. Football is a results business though – Manchester United have sacked Ruben Amorim while Manchester United have the best attacking figure in the Premier League.

Wrexham are actually massively over-performing in the Championship this season. On the face of it, given their quick rise sitting in mid-table is a solid result. However, there’s a lot of red flags when you look at their performance levels. They are in the bottom three on attacking figures, and they have the second worst defensive figure too. Obviously they have a lot of money, and they will need to spend it this summer to avoid a relegation battle this season. Forest are clearly playing much better football this season, and the 1.89 looks very big here. Obviously it’s a good plan to keep stakes reasonably limited at this stage of the FA Cup, but I feel the 1.89 is worth a confident bet.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Nottingham Forest to beat Wrexham at 1.89 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
