MONDAY FA CUP: The Striker previews BLACKBURN ROVERS v WREXHAM both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BLACKBURN ROVERS V WREXHAM
7.30pm We finish FA Cup Fourth Round weekend on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with Monday Night Football as Blackburn host Wrexham. Netflix has shined the light on Wrexham and now they have massive interest in just about everything they do – it was pretty obvious that this would end up as a TV game when the draw was made. Wrexham are having an excellent season in League Two while Blackburn are struggling in Championship – this should be an interesting game.
Blackburn come into the game as the odds on favourites. The home win is trading 1.79 with Wrexham 4.6 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing. Although Blackburn are having a very average season in the Championship, there is an obvious gulf in class between the sides given the levels they play at. That being said, Wrexham are clearly a club on the up. They have the backing of big named owners, and obviously that brings a lot of money while the documentary has brought a lot of interest too. At one stage last season their club shop sold out of kits – not many clubs experience that!
The time that they actually sold out of kits was the FA Cup Fourth Round last season. They drew 3-3 with Sheffield United and then they got beaten 3-1 in the replay. Wrexham currently sit in second in League Two, just two points off top spot. For Blackburn it’s a different story – they sit down in 17th in the Championship. They won’t be involved in the relegation battle, but they have had a number of issues this season. Their average xG conceded is 1.62 which is the second worst defensive figure in the Championship. They have been giving away goals and that’s been causing major issues.
Blackburn have only managed one win in their last ten Championship games. They haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet in eleven games; they’ve actually only managed four clean sheets in the Championship all season. Obviously stats like that would made you feel that the 1.7 is too short on Blackburn, and I couldn’t put anyone off the lay from a value point of view. They just haven’t been playing with confidence and have been leaking sloppy goals. However, the bet that stands out here is Over 2.5 goals at 1.51. This game screams goals with how poor Blackburn have been at the back, and Wrexham like to play an open game too. This should be an entertaining game.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.51 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
