7.45pm With the Premier League on a break, attention turns to the Championship for Monday Night Football! We have a big game on BETDAQ Betting Exchange to start the week as Blackburn host Middlesbrough. This is a fantastic chance for Blackburn to go into second place after Bournemouth lost 1-0 to Hull on Saturday. Hull have been pretty average this season and Bournemouth had home advantage so that was a pretty big setback. They have the same amount of points now after 27 games, while it looks like neither will be able to catch Fulham at the top.

Middlesbrough come into the game in great form having won their last five games in all competitions. They are making a good run at the Playoffs places, and they have some very good momentum at the moment. They are only seven points behind Bournemouth in second with a game in hand, so you’d have to imagine they will at least make the Playoffs and they shouldn’t give up on a top two finish although unlikely. They are heading in the right direction!

While Hull handed Blackburn a good result on Saturday, they managed to beat Blackburn themselves last Wednesday and when you look at the xG figures this fixture falls at an excellent time for Middlesbrough. They are playing some fantastic football at the moment, probably their best of the season to be honest. They created an xG of 1.93 v Reading, 2.70 away to Blackpool, 2.31 v Nottingham Forest and 3.10 v Bournemouth recently. Compare those figures to Blackburn’s current form and there’s only one winner for me here.

Blackburn conceded an xG of 2.68 against Hull midweek which is very disappointing, and they were exceptionally lucky to beat Cardiff prior to that. They only created an xG of 0.16 in a cagey game – their xG figures haven’t been impressive since they beat Birmingham in mid December and I feel this is a good time to get on Middlesbrough. They have all the momentum and they are playing full of confidence. Obviously this is going to be a tough away fixture, but they are creating much more than Blackburn at the moment and that can win the game.
