Both clubs are having excellent seasons, and you could call this a must win game for both of them to have an outside chance at a Europa Conference League spot.
Bournemouth come into the game as favourites at 2.16 with Fulham 3.6 and the draw is 3.75 at the time of writing. Both sides have been very entertaining to watch this season, so we should have a good game here. Bournemouth have been absolutely superb going forward; they have the joint-third best attacking figure in the Premier League with an average xG created of 1.76. Only Liverpool and Manchester City have created more chances this season. Why Bournemouth sit in mid-table and not higher though is they have been exceptionally open at the back. Their average xG conceded is high at 1.51.
Fulham are conceding less chances, they are actually in the top six on defensive figures this season, but they are creating less than Bournemouth. Where Fulham have made a lot of improvement this season is their away form. This season they are creating exactly what they are conceding away from home – the average xG figure is 1.43 – for a number of seasons they are conceding a lot more than they were creating away from home. Fulham must surely be full of confidence too given they come into this game off the back of beating Champions in waiting Liverpool.
I expect a good game here; opening and attacking. If I was having a bet in the match odds market, I would lay Bournemouth at 2.16 from a value point of view – I just expect a closer game than those odds suggest. However, I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market because this game screams goals in my opinion. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.75 and Both Teams To Score is ten ticks shorter than 1.65. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet to be honest, but the 1.75 looks great value on Overs and I’m happy with a confident bet to start the week!
