PREMIER LEAGUE: The Striker previews CHELSEA v WEST HAM with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CHELSEA V WEST HAM
8pm We have Monday Night Football from the Premier League on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week! It’s a London Derby as Chelsea host West Ham – after this fixture the Premier League takes a little break for the second legs of the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals and then at the weekend it’s the Fourth Round of the FA Cup. It’s a hectic schedule for some teams as then we go straight into the Champions League and Europa League playoffs – with no International breaks for a while we actually have an excellent schedule of football to enjoy!
This should be an interesting game – Graham Potter must be settled into his new role as West Ham manager now. He might not have the squad he likes to carry out his system, but Chelsea have been having a lot of issues recently. They were being spoken about as the main challengers to Liverpool a couple of weeks ago only to drop points in six of their last seven games! You can easily forgive Chelsea losing against Manchester City last time out but the other fixtures they dropped points in came against Everton, Fulham, Ipswich, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth. Not exactly the toughest fixture list.
Chelsea come into the game as the red-hot favourites at 1.37 with West Ham 8.8 and the draw is 6.2 at the time of writing. I know West Ham have had a lot of issues this season, but given their current run you wouldn’t exactly be rushing to take the 1.37 on Chelsea here. It’s not like they have been exceptionally unlucky on this current run – they have thrown in a few poor performances. West Ham continue to have big issues at the back though – their average xG conceded is as high as 1.7 and they are conceding over that too. They’ve been sloppy at the back as well, and you just know Chelsea are going to get a lot of chances here.
I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market. I do feel that the 1.37 doesn’t offer value on Chelsea, but at the same time I’d not keen on laying them and relying on West Ham to be solid at the back. Chelsea have definitely been a little sloppy at the back on this run, so we should see goals here. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.43 and that will be a popular bet. I like Over 3.5 goals at a bigger price 2.06 and another option is Both Teams To Score at 1.7. I couldn’t put anyone of either bet, but on balance I marginally prefer Both Teams To Score in what should be an open game.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Both Teams To Score at 1.7 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
