EVERTON V CRYSTAL PALACE

8pm We have a massive relegation battle for Monday Night Football in the Premier League on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! Everton host Crystal Palace with both sides under pressure. Crystal Palace fans won’t like me calling this a relegation battle but they are only five points ahead of Everton – it is hard to see Palace going down given it would mean the likes of Nottingham Forest and Luton Town have to stay up, but they’ve played pretty poor football this season. Everton have been way better than their current position sitting in the bottom three but obviously that ten point deduction is a massive blow.

The general feeling when Everton got that deduction was that they would handle it. They had been playing superb football and the general opinion was that it was a good season to get it as it would have easily relegated them the last two seasons. However, they’ve now gone seven games without a win and they must be feeling the heat sitting in the bottom three. Obviously they can say that they are playing much better football than all the other sides around them, but the reality is they need a win soon. They have had a difficult fixture list on that run; they’ve had to play Manchester City twice, Spurs twice and Aston Villa.

Everton come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.76 with Crystal Palace 5.5 and the draw is 3.8 at the time of writing. A major factor here is home advantage; Everton have been much better at home this season compared to away. It’s almost like their xG figures flip around; at home they are creating an xG of 1.63 and conceding 1.35 – away from home their average created is 1.28 compared to their conceded figure of 1.52. That’s quite a big difference. Their last three home games have come against Spurs, Aston Villa and Manchester City – two draws from those three games is pretty good and they did beat Chelsea and Newcastle prior.

Unfortunately for Crystal Palace Roy Hodgson was taken ill on Thursday and had to go to hospital. His assistants are set to prepare the team for this game. At the time of writing, The Guardian are reporting that Hodgson is likely to step down as manager given the health scare. Hodgson has had such a wonderful time with Palace, it would be a shame for it to end like this even allowing for their poor form this season and sections of the fans not being happy with the performance level.

Palace have really struggled to create chances this season. Their average xG created is only 1.07 away from home – they haven’t been much better at home though – they have the same points at home compared to away. I do feel the big difference here is home advantage for Everton. They have clearly been much better at home, and Crystal Palace are there for the taking too. They’ve conceded nine goals in their last two away games, and have been pretty poor at the back in general recently – the 1.76 is worth backing on Everton here to finally break their run without a win.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Everton to beat Crystal Palace at 1.76 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
