PREMIER LEAGUE MONDAY: The Striker previews EVERTON v WEST HAM with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
EVERTON V WEST HAM
8pm We have Monday Night Football to enjoy from the Premier League this week on Betdaq Betting Exchange! It’s the start of another massive week of football with the Champions League and Europa League now in full flow. Everton host West Ham, and this fixture got a whole lot more interesting on Saturday as West Ham sacked Graham Potter. Within almost the hour, Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed – the never ending managerial merry-go-round continues!
It’s a little bit ironic that West Ham face their former manager David Moyes here, who has transformed Everton since returning. Moyes was a success at West Ham – brought them a major European trophy – but was always labelled as “boring” and under pressure from the fans, West Ham parted ways. The reality is after winning the Europa Conference League; that was the mountain for West Ham and they were never going to reach those heights again. With greater expectations, usually the fans become unhappy and things go south from there.
You could say the exact same about their new manager too. Nuno had a superb run with Nottingham Forest but they massively over-performed to get European football last season. The manager fell on his sword; one wonders now how he will get on with a West Ham squad who never fired under Potter. They still have massive issues at the back, and come into this game with the third worst defensive figure in the Premier League this season. Potter never fixed the issues at the back from Julen Lopetegui – that will likely be the biggest job for Nuno.
It’ll be interesting to see do we get a new manager bounce here too from the squad which never happened under Potter. They need it – three points from five games leaves them sitting in the relegation zone. Everton have been a lot more solid at the back, and it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites. Everton are trading 1.74 with West Ham 5.6 and the draw is 3.95 at the moment. I do feel it’s a shrewd position to keep stakes low on this game given the situation, but Everton have been very good with home advantage under Moyes, and this West ham side look there for the taking. I’m happy with a small position on Everton.
