PREMIER LEAGUE: The Striker previews IPSWICH v CHELSEA and MANCHESTER UNITED v NEWCASTLE in the Premier League – both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
IPSWICH V CHELSEA
7.45pm Monday Night Football from the Premier League looks a bit different this week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as we continue the festive period! We have more than the one usual Sky Sports fixture and while all eyes will be on Manchester United v Newcastle later, we kick off the night with Ipswich hosting Chelsea. After dropping points in back-to-back games, this is a must win fixture for Chelsea to get back on track. At the start of the season, not many Premier League fans would have included them in the title race discussion – indeed even finishing in the Top Four would have been a good achievement – but with Manchester City and Arsenal dropping points they did land themselves into the mix. Drawing to Everton and then losing at home to Fulham was a real hammer blow if they did have any title hopes, and now they need to go on a winning run along with Liverpool dropping points. Ipswich are also fighting their own battle this season – they spent Christmas in the relegation zone which is never nice. You can forgive them the loss to Arsenal, but Wolves winning back-to-back games was a massive blow.
Ipswich have had a big shift in their odds for relegation given Wolves were the only really likely candidate to take a place in the bottom three aside from the three promoted sides. Once again this season has highlighted the massive gap between the Premier League and the Championship! The stats paint a poor picture for Ipswich too – they have the worst attacking figure in the league this season and they’ve been poor at the back too. Put everything together and they are in the bottom three performing sides. Chelsea should win easily here, and they come into the game as the red-hot favourites. Chelsea are trading 1.42 with Ipswich 8.4 and the draw is 5.5 at the time of writing. I couldn’t put anyone off including Chelsea is any Acca at 1.42. I feel they can cover the handicap here on the way to winning – they are trading 2.08 -1.5 goals and that is a confident bet in my opinion.
The Striker Says:
Three points win Chelsea -1.5 goals to beat Ipswich at 2.08 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

MANCHESTER UNITED V NEWCASTLE
8pm The trials and tribulations of Manchester United continue on Monday night as they host Newcastle. After saying all the right things and seemingly filling United fans full of hope, Ruben Amorim has been getting a lot of criticism recently. Back-to-back losses to Bournemouth and Wolves without scoring definitely took the wind out of the United sail, but in fairness to the manager he did predict this after the 4-0 win against Everton. I feel the reality is Amorim knows this United squad is exceptionally poor – it is actually fascinating to see what happens. Erik ten hag abandoned his football principles to get results with this squad – Ruben Amorim doesn’t seem the type to do that so United fans might have to go through a lot of pain this season. The reality is United need someone like Amorim to draw a line in the sand because United have been doing the same things year after year and expecting different results. Isn’t that the definition of insanity? It’s the sign of the times at Old Trafford that Newcastle come into the game as the favourites. Newcastle are trading 2.66 with Manchester United 2.76 and the draw is 3.75 at the time of writing.
It’s hard to have any faith in this United side at the moment – this squad have thrown many a manager under the bus too so it wouldn’t be surprising if they downed tools at some stage too. That is the fascinating element of the United situation; Ralf Rangnick was the last man to speak a lot of sense at United and the squad didn’t play for him at all. With United conceding goals for fun, the 2.66 on Newcastle will be a tempting bet for many. I don’t like it however; Newcastle have been conceding a lot of chances this season – their average xG conceded at 1.42 is higher than United! In my opinion this game screams goals, and I was very surprised to see Over 2.5 goals trading as big as 1.65 when I clicked into the market. I feel we’re getting a lot of value here, and it’s worth a Five Star NAP for me!
