SUNDERLAND V BURNLEY

8pm We have Monday Night Football from the Premier League to enjoy on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week as Sunderland host Burnley! At the start of the season with both of these sides coming from the Championship, most fans would have been looking at this fixture as a massive relegation six-pointer. It hasn’t worked out like that with Sunderland having an immense start to the season results wise – they only lost twice in their first eleven Premier League games, and they have continued to grind out results recently too. You have to hand it to Sunderland for how many results they have managed, but they are massively over-performing.

Staying in the Premier League will no doubt bring more money, and they will need that too because they have work to do for next season. Their under-lining numbers are very poor, and despite the no stress lack of relegation battle, I would be worried about next season. Their average xG created is only 1.15 which is the third worst attacking figure in the Premier League and they also have a third worst defensive figure too with an average xG conceded of 1.66. They are massively getting away with things at the back this season though – their actual goals conceded average is only 1.13. There’s a lot of points gained there.

It will be interesting to see who comes out on top here because Burnley have been so poor this season. They have the worst attacking figure with an average xG created of just 1.04 and they also have the worst defensive figure in the Premier League as well. Their average xG conceded is 1.94, which is massive. You don’t win many games when conceding two goals a game! With those stats, it’s no surprise that Sunderland come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.81 with Burnley 5.5 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing.

Despite Burnley being so poor this season, I still wouldn’t be rushing to back Sunderland at odds on here. I know they have been getting the results, but they haven’t been playing good football. There’s only 0.11 between them in attack, and while Sunderland aren’t as bad as Burnley at the back, they still have a poor average xG conceded. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here given the lack of confidence in both sides, and this is a game for small stakes in my opinion. I do feel with the sides conceding so many chances, we should see goals here – even allowing for the fact that they are both so limited in attack. Over 2.5 goals is trading at 2.34 and that looks worth a small investment.

The Striker Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 2.34 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
