PREMIER LEAGUE MONDAY: The Striker previews SUNDERLAND v EVERTON with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
SUNDERLAND V EVERTON
8pm We have Monday Night Football to enjoy from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week! We have a fascinating betting heat as Sunderland host Everton with a very open market. Everton are the marginal favourites at 2.84 with Sunderland 2.94 and the draw is 3.2 at the time of writing. It’s no surprise that we have an open betting heat here; this should be a very close game.
Sunderland came into the season odds on for relegation – we have seen how difficult it is to stay in the Premier League after coming up from the Championship these days – but they have made an incredible start to the season. They were sitting inside the Top Four with 17 points from nine games – obviously morale must be exceptionally high in the camp and the fans must be living the dream at the moment. They are over-performing when you look at their under-lining numbers, but they won’t care about that at the moment!
From an analysis point of view though, there are some red flags with Sunderland. They have an average xG created of 1.09 which is the second worst in the Premier League this season. That’s not even where they have massively over-performed though. They have the third worst defensive figure this season, but so far sides just aren’t converting their chances against them. They are conceding roughly half of what they should; eventually sides will start taking those chances though!
Everton have been very solid since David Moyes returned, but it must be said that they are a much better side when they have home advantage. I know they have moved stadiums, but they just haven’t been as strong away from home under Moyes. Overall, they are conceding more chances than they are creating this season. It’s easy to pick holes in both sides here to be honest – generally you don’t want to be on Everton away from home and it’s hard to back Sunderland looking at their performance levels, despite their excellent results. Everything about this game screams a very tight game – I’m happy with a small position on the draw at 3.2.
