WEST HAM V BRENTFORD

8pm We have Monday Night Football to enjoy from the Premier League this week on Betdaq Betting Exchange! It’s the start of a massive week as the Champions League and Europa League return after the latest International Break! West Ham host Brentford in what is a massive game for both sides – they’ve both had poor starts to the season, and now they are both under pressure in the relegation fight. Definitely West Ham more than Brentford, and it’ll be interesting to see how Nuno gets on as manager with Graham Potter sacked.

Brentford have been quite poor, but they recorded a massive win over Manchester United recently and that gives them a three point cushion over West Ham as the Hammers sit in the relegation zone. I do feel this type of fixture is massive for West Ham; home advantage against a side performing badly. A win is a direct blow to the opposition in the relegation fight too. Surely we have to see more fight from the West Ham players than we have seen this season. If the heads go down now and we are questioning the effort level, then that’s going to be a massive red flag here.

It’s no surprise that we have an open betting heat here. West Ham are the favourites at 2.66 with Brentford 2.9 and the draw is 3.5 at the time of writing. You only have to look at the table to know these two sides haven’t been playing good football, and there are a lot of red flags in the performance levels! Brentford come into the matchday with an average xG created of only 1.02 which is the second worst attacking figure in the Premier League – only Burnley have created less. They are also in the bottom three on defensive figures, obviously without that United win they would be under immense pressure, and it’s hard to see them not being involved in the relegation battle despite not being one of the favourites at the moment.

West Ham have been poor at both ends of the pitch too. They are in the bottom five on attacking figures – better than Brentford with an average xG created of 1.2 – but they have been worse at the back. An average xG conceded of 1.63 is very high, and that’s the second worst defensive figure in the Premier League this season. I do feel this will be a close game, I wouldn’t be surprised to see both sides cancel each other out to be honest, and the draw makes appeal at 3.5. Another option has to be goals given how poor both sides have been at the back – Over 2.5 goals is trading 2.04 and Both Teams To Score is 1.75. I actually couldn’t put anyone off either goal bet to be honest, but the draw offers the most value at 3.5 in my opinion.
