PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY: The Striker previews CHELSEA v SUNDERLAND, MANCHESTER UNITED v BRIGHTON and BRENTFORD v LIVERPOOL all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CHELSEA V SUNDERLAND
3pm We have a fascinating Saturday from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week! We might not have a long fixture list with so many clubs having European commitments earlier in the week. We also have Friday Night Football to enjoy so we start the day with only two games kicking off 3pm; the pick of which is Chelsea hosting Sunderland in my opinion. No doubt that all the talking points will come from the later games involving Manchester United and Liverpool, but it’ll be interesting to see how Sunderland cope with Chelsea here. Sunderland came into the season odds on for relegation but they will be absolutely delighted with their start – 14 points from their eight games sees them come into this matchday sitting up in seventh. Fair to say not many people saw that start coming! They are actually on the same amount of points as Chelsea which is remarkable – Sunderland started the season around 1.5 for relegation; only Burnley were shorter in the betting. This is a game that Chelsea will be expected to win though with home advantage, and it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites.
Chelsea are trading 1.46 with Sunderland 8.2 and the draw is 5.0 at the time of writing. While the clubs might have the same amount of points, there’s a massive difference in their performance levels. Sunderland have been extremely lucky to have got their 14 points – they have the second worst attacking figure in the Premier League and the third worst defensive figure. So far, they have been massively getting away with things at the back; they’ve conceded less than half of the chances they’ve given away. Chelsea are in the top five on attacking figures, and while they have conceded more chances than some of the other top sides they are very solid at the back compared to Sunderland. I’m confident on the Chelsea win here to start the day, and I couldn’t put anyone off them at 1.46. I do feel that they can win easily here though, and I’m going with a bigger price on the handicap – Chelsea are trading 2.27 to cover a 1.5 goal handicap and that looks cracking value to start the day.

Three points win Chelsea -1.5 goals to beat Sunderland at 2.27 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

MANCHESTER UNITED V BRIGHTON
5.30pm Next we move over to Old Trafford. Manchester United turned up an Anfield last weekend for a brilliant 2-1 win; the big question now is will the players turn up again for Brighton at home? Ruben Amorim mentioned this game straight away in his press conference after the Liverpool win – the reality with this United side is you just do not know what type of performance they are going to through in. They’ve been playing good football this season, but threw in a shocker away to Brentford – old habits die hard! We have a very interesting market, and I’m sure we’re going to have some big opinions on the United price on either side of the book. Manchester United are trading 2.1 with Brighton 3.55 and the draw is 3.95 at the time of writing. The win at Anfield was the first time Ruben Amorim recorded back-to-back Premier League wins, which is remarkable really. But we’ve seen United squads turn up for big games time and time again since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, only to go back to very average performances in the games that they “should” be winning. It will be very interesting to see what type of effort level we get here.
There’s no doubt that when you look at the under-lining numbers, United were a little lucky on Sunday – maybe that is the luck they need to turn things around – but Liverpool finished the game with an xG of over 2.0. Still, United have been creating a lot this season – they have the third best attacking figure in the Premier League behind Arsenal and Liverpool. There’s room for improvement too because they haven’t been taking all those chances. Brighton have had a lacklustre start to the season; their attacking figure is mid-table level and it’s no surprise that they sit in tenth. It feels like they have lost a spark since looking like they could take a step forward and compete for Europe each season – I suppose they are a selling club and that’s tough. Both sides like to play an open game, and Brighton are prone to errors at the back too – I feel we’ll have a very entertaining game here, and I feel it screams goals. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.62 and that’s a confident bet for me.

Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.62 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

BRENTFORD V LIVERPOOL
8pm While we might not have an early kick off to enjoy, we do have an 8pm fixture which is rare for a Saturday! We finish the day with Brentford hosting Liverpool, and this should be an entertaining game. Liverpool got a much needed win on Wednesday night away to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League – they went 1-0 down but responded extremely strongly to win 5-1! After recording three straight losses in the Premier League and in between that run losing in the Champions League, they needed a win to steady the ship. Especially after a loss at home to Manchester United – you could easily make the argument that they were unlucky there to be honest; they finished the game with an xG over 2.0. I feel the problem with Liverpool this season is at the back though; they have leaked goals and got themselves into a lot of tricky situations. Obviously they pulled themselves out of it with a few injury time winners, but you can’t do that all the time. Brentford have been quite poor this season, it’ll be interesting to see do they have any success going forward – Liverpool have only kept two Premier League clean sheets this season.
Even allowing for the Liverpool woes at the moment, it’s still no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites. Brentford are sitting in the bottom four on attacking figures, but they did record a massive win over West Ham on Monday night which has given them a very nice cushion on the relegation battle below. Liverpool are trading 1.76 with Brentford 4.7 and the draw is 4.4 at the time of writing. Liverpool are obviously going through a difficult period at the moment, but they still have the second best attacking figure in the Premier League. With Brentford leaking goals, it’s hard to get away from Liverpool here at 1.76. I’d have them sub 1.7 to be honest; obviously they have been in the news with the three losses – they are a bigger price to win the title now than Manchester City – but Brentford are there for the taking. Another option is Over 2.5 goals at 1.58 given how open Liverpool have been at times this season – I wouldn’t put anyone off that, but I feel that the Liverpool price offers more value. It’s not like Brentford have been creating a lot, and I’m happy with a confident bet on Liverpool to finish the day.

Three points win Liverpool to beat Brentford at 1.76 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
