BRIGHTON V MANCHESTER UNITED

4.30pm The FA Cup Semi-Finals continue on Sunday at Wembley, and we have the most interesting game of the weekend on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Brighton clash with Manchester United, and it’s a sign of how good Brighton are playing at the moment that they come into the game as the favourites. We have a pretty open market, but Brighton are clear favourites at 2.36, Manchester United are 3.1 and the draw is 3.85.

Manchester United come into this tie under immense pressure after crashing out of the Europa League on Thursday night. They lead 2-0 at half-time in the first leg at Old Trafford, definitely had one foot in the Semi-Final, but a crazy last ten minutes meant they went into the second leg away from home at 2-2. Sevilla were much the better side on Thursday with home advantage, United were all over the place. It’s hard to be too harsh on Harry Maguire because he gets stick every week, but he had a terrible game and it’s hard to have confidence in United with him leading them at the back. Injuries and the fixture list are really hitting hard now.

If United crash out of the FA Cup a few days after, their season is going up in smoke quickly. Zooming out, they will still be delighted with the League Cup and a Top Four finish but it’s amazing how quickly football moves – at half-time of the first leg against Sevilla you could have had them favourites for the Europa League winners! The performance against Sevilla on Thursday was very poor, and if United turn up in the same form then Brighton will win – they simply have to do better.

Brighton have been creating a huge volume of chances recently, and with United struggling at the back it’s hard to see Brighton not scoring. They finished with an xG of 3.30 last week away to Chelsea, although they lost against Spurs they finished with an xG of over three times what they conceded and were unlucky to lose – then they created xG figures of 2.44 v Bournemouth and a whopping 4.47 against Brentford – another game they should have won! United have produced some nice xG figures in the Premier League too; 3.67 v Everton and 3.41 v Nottingham Forest. Those two sides are in the relegation fight however, and it’s clear Brighton have been playing better football.

With both sides bang in form domestically in front of goal, Over 2.5 goals is an appealing bet at 1.7. Both sides are so attacking, it’s hard to not see goals here to be honest. Brighton always like to play an open game, and to be honest United don’t have a good defence at the moment with injuries. I couldn’t put anyone off the Brighton bet at 2.36 because I feel they will win the game. However, I feel there is plenty of value in the Over 2.5 goals and it’s a confident selection.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.7 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
