1pm Sunday is packed with FA Cup action and we kick off at 1pm with Sheffield United hosting Arsenal. This is the type of fixture you look at and think “So, who’s going to make the most mistakes?” Arsenal did manage a rare away win midweek against Southampton, and they have a very good chance of winning again here with Sheffield United returning from lockdown in poor form.
Over the course of the season, Sheffield United have been much better than Arsenal. But I feel I need to see a performance before backing them. They have had excuses in the three games with a goal not given, red card and injuries – but they haven’t created anything going forward and that’s just not like them. Even allowing for how poor Sheffield United have been, Arsenal still look too short at 2.48. They’ve only created 1 goal per away game under Arteta and conceded nearly two. I like the draw price at 3.45 as Arsenal had to play Thursday and might be a little slow to get going here and Sheffield United are out of form. The draw is definitely the stand out bet for a small investment.

- Sheffield United and Arsenal last faced in the FA Cup back in March 2005 in a fifth-round replay; after a goalless draw, the Gunners won 4-2 on penalties at Bramall Lane.
- Arsenal have won just one of their last eight away matches against Sheffield United in all competitions (D4 L3), a 3-0 win in October 2007 in the League Cup.
- Sheffield United last played in an FA Cup quarter-final in 2013-14 as a League One side, winning 2-0 against Charlton Athletic to progress to that season’s semi-final, where they lost 5-3 to Hull City.
- Arsenal have progressed from 13 of their last 15 FA Cup quarter-final matches, losing in this run in 2010-11 against Man Utd and 2015-16 against Watford.

LEICESTER V CHELSEA
4pm Chelsea handed Liverpool the Premier League title on Thursday evening when beating Manchester City and I’m very surprised to see them as big as 2.52 here. Clearly with the quick turnaround, we could see some changes to the Chelsea XI here and that has to be a factor when considering the size of the investment. It doesn’t put me off backing Chelsea, just lowers my stake.
Leicester have been very poor since returning from lockdown, creating very little against two sides towards the bottom of the table. They were particularly disappointing at home to Brighton as we can always forgive the first fixture back. Both sides could gel and we could have a fantastic game on paper with lots of goal expected. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.93 but with Leicester not creating much since returning I much prefer Chelsea at 2.52. They were impressive against City and anything close to that sees them win here.

- Leicester are winless in all eight previous FA Cup matches against Chelsea (D2 L6), going out at the quarter-final stage in their last two ties against the Blues in 2011-12 and 2017-18.
- Chelsea have only faced Hull City (11 games) and Burnley (9) more often in the FA Cup without losing than their eight unbeaten games against Leicester.
- Leicester have been eliminated from all 10 domestic cup ties against Chelsea (four League Cup, six FA Cup), the joint-worst record by a team against an opponent in FA Cup/League Cup ties, along with Stoke City vs Liverpool (eliminated in all 10 ties).
- Chelsea have lost only two of their last 20 games against Leicester in all competitions (W13 D5 L2), although they are winless in four against the Foxes (D3 L1).
- Leicester City are looking to reach the FA Cup semi-final for the first time since the 1981-82 campaign – they have been eliminated in four FA Cup quarter-finals since then, with the most recent two coming against Chelsea.
- This is Chelsea’s 18th FA Cup quarter-final in the Premier League era (since 1992-93), more than any other side. They’ve progressed from six of their last seven, losing the other in 2015-16 away at Everton.
- Brendan Rodgers is yet to beat Chelsea in his managerial career in 14 previous attempts (D8 L6) – the only other team he’s faced more than twice without winning is Wolves (five games).
- Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley has been involved in 50% (3/6) of their FA Cup goals this season (2 goals, 1 assist) – the only season he’s been directly involved in more was in 2015-16 with Everton (2 goals, 2 assists), with those two assists coming against Chelsea in the quarter-final.
NEWCASTLE V MANCHESTER CITY
6.30pm City may have officially lost the Premier League title on Thursday, but everyone knew that was coming for a long time. They’ve already won the League Cup and now their focus will be on this competition and of course the Champions League. They may have lost to Chelsea on Thursday night, but they have returned in impressive form and they can blow this Newcastle side away here.
Newcastle have been one of the worse sides in the Premier League this season going forward. They are only creating just over 1 goal per game and that puts them in 19th position in the attacking table. They actually sit in last on xG terms, which is remarkable given they are 13th in the table. City look massive at 1.94 -2 goals on the Asian Handicap, with stakes void if they win by exactly two of course and that’s my most confident bet of the bet. Newcastle are a very poor side and City should take them apart.

- Should they win this match, Manchester City will become only the sixth team to win 10 consecutive FA Cup matches and only the third since the turn of the 20th century, after Aston Villa (10 between 1913 and 1914) and Chelsea (13 between 2009 and 2011).
