PORTSMOUTH V ARSENAL

2pm We have a cracking Sunday from the FA Cup Third Round on Betdaq Betting Exchange! The highlight of the day in my opinion is the all Premier League clash between Manchester United and Brighton later on, but we kick off the day with Portsmouth hosting Arsenal. It’s been many years since this was an all Premier League clash! It’s fair to say that everyone will be expecting an easy Arsenal win here given the gulf in class between the sides, but it will be interesting to see what XI Arteta opts to go with here. I feel it would be a surprise if he didn’t opt to rest players – Arsenal already have one hand on the Premier League title after Manchester City dropped more points midweek. However; Arsenal played out a very boring 0-0 draw with Liverpool – they didn’t exactly approach that game like the best side in the league – you could argue that they even played for the draw. Anyone that took the 1.6 on them wouldn’t have been happy with that performance anyway; they basically didn’t even go for it in the second half. Despite the high chance of Arsenal resting players here, it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the red-hot favourites.

Arsenal are trading 1.25 with Portsmouth 13.0 and the draw is 7.2 at the time of writing. Even allowing for the fact that we can expect a few changes here, it’s very difficult to see past an Arsenal win so I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market – no prizes for tipping 1.25 shots – they are a nice selection to include in a weekend Acca. While this will be a massive game for the Portsmouth fans, they have bigger matters this season given they are struggling in the Championship – they are just one point outside the relegation zone at the moment; but they do have two games in hand on Norwich in 22nd which is good. Portsmouth are in the bottom five attacking figures in the Championship, and given how impressive Arsenal have been at the back this season I’m happy to back Both Teams Not To Score at 1.76 which looks cracking value. Arsenal can keep a clean sheet on the way to winning here. Again, happy to keep stakes reasonably small given it’s only the Third Round.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.76 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

MANCHESTER UNITED V BRIGHTON

4.30pm We finish Sunday with a cracker from Old Trafford as Manchester United host Brighton. Both sides earned a point away from home in their midweek Premier League fixture – in very different situations! Brighton put a big dent in the Manchester City title challenge; that meant City had dropped points in three straight games and surely Arsenal have one hand on the title now. Manchester United had to accept a disappointing draw away to Burnley; to be honest we didn’t see anything different from the squad with Ruben Amorim gone. It’s the same old Manchester Unitec chaos in a 2-2 draw. United are a classic example of the definition of madness – doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results. With Amorim now gone, the next marry-go-around starts until that stops – but the reality for Manchester United fans is that nothing will change behind the scenes and that is surely clearly the problem now. All the changes in management is just distracting away from the real issue – we’ve had enough top class managers now and young managers with none successful. It’s actually difficult to pick a United manager now – and surely if you’re a top manager you’re going nowhere near the job.

Once again, it’ll be interesting to see what type of performance we get here. We’ve had lots of rumours spill out after the Burnley draw – basically everyone blaming everyone else but the United PR machine always kicks in to protect the owners. It might surprise a few to see United trading as the odds on favourites. The home win is trading 1.94 with Brighton 3.85 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. The best way to describe Brighton this season is lacklustre as they sit down in 11th; they’ve only won once in their last eight Premier League games, but they are only three points behind United at the moment. I feel the 1.94 is a little short on United here given the situation – granted they currently have the best attacking figure in the Premier League! Ironic given they’ve just sacked the manager! This is definitely a situation where you want to keep stakes small, and I do feel we’ll see a closer game than the odds suggest so I’m happy with a small United lay from a value point of view.

The Striker Says:
One point lay (liability) Manchester United to beat Brighton at 1.94 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
