FA CUP SUNDAY: The Striker previews Sunday’s FA Cup Quarter Final’s between CRYSTAL PALACE v EVERTON, SOUTHAMPTON v MAN CITY and NOTTINGHAM FOREST v LIVERPOOL with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CRYSTAL PALACE V EVERTON
12.30pm We have a fantastic Sunday in the FA Cup with three Quarter-Finals to enjoy on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We have two big favourites away from home in Manchester City and Liverpool, and we start the day with the most open market of the day as Crystal Palace host Everton. Despite this being the most open market of the day, Crystal Palace are still decent favourites as they trade 2.0 at the time of writing. Everton have been terrible this season, and they might welcome the change to Cup football this week as they “get away” from their position in the Premier League. That being said, they must come into this fixture on a high after their late winner against Newcastle on Thursday night. It was a game that will be remembered for the fan tying himself to the goalpost more than anything, but that was a massive three points for Everton. To score so late too in such an important game would have given them a huge buzz. Frank Lampard even broke his hand celebrating! Despite that win and the massive lift they will get from it, you still have to say that they have been a very average side this season, and to be honest Crystal Palace will have to underperform not to beat them.
In that sense, the 2.0 does look good value. I wouldn’t be the biggest Crystal Palace fan at all but Everton are so poor. Newcastle created a bigger xG than Everton on Thursday night, and I know they would have benefited from an extra man towards the end of the game but it just highlights again how limited Everton have been. Although we move to the FA Cup here, let’s not forget that Everton sit rock bottom of the Premier League away form table with only eight points from their 13 games – even Norwich have a better record! I’m going to keep stakes limited here but Crystal Palace have been playing good football lately, they were very impressive against Wolves before holding Manchester City to a draw and they really should get the job done here against this average Everton side.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Crystal Palace to beat Everton at 2.0 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

SOUTHAMPTON V MANCHESTER CITY
3pm Southampton host Manchester City next, in a game that Manchester City will be expected to win. The market is very confident on a City win here with Pep Guardiola’s side trading as short as 1.35 at the time of writing. It’s not quite the shortest price of the day however as that title goes to Liverpool later. Southampton have been playing some decent football this season and they have put in some very nice performances at home. They even managed to hold City to a 1-1 draw when the sides met here towards the end of January. City finished the game with an xG of 2.18, but to be honest City are always going to create a lot of chances – you have to give credit to Southampton for grinding out a result against a much better side. Since that game Southampton and won two and lost two home games, but their results don’t tell the full story. They have finished the games with xG figures of 2.69, 3.14, 2.05 and 1.73. They were unlucky to lose to Newcastle and Watford, but you also have to remember those xG figures came against Everton, Norwich, Newcastle and Watford. We’re talking about City here, worlds apart from all those clubs.
City took all the headlines on Monday night when they could only draw 0-0 away to Crystal Palace. That result has really blown the title race wide open in the Premier League. While Sky Sports will obviously jump on that and create a huge build-up but when you look at the performance from City they were very unlucky not to win the game. They controlled the game and created an xG of 2.25 in a game they should have won. They are still playing incredible football and if they continue to play like they have then it’s hard to see them not lifting the title – although a close title race is welcome! I feel City will get the job done here, but I’m not going to recommend them at 1.35 but I couldn’t put anyone off including them in any BETDAQ Multiple. With Southampton creating plenty of chances at home and in general playing a little more open football, over 2.5 goals looks the value here at 1.6. City are always going to enjoy an open game and this could be a very entertaining afternoon.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.6 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST V LIVERPOOL
6pm We finish the FA Cup Quarter-Finals with Nottingham Forest hosting Liverpool. Nottingham Forest fans will enjoy hosting a side like Liverpool here and the atmosphere should be excellent, but it’s hard to see anything other than a Liverpool win here. The market agrees too with Liverpool the shortest price of any side in the Quarter-Finals this weekend – trading 1.3 at the time of writing. Nottingham Forest took the headlines in the fourth round with an impressive 4-1 win over Leicester, but Leicester have been average this season and then Nottingham Forest came through Huddersfield in the fifth round. Huddersfield are sitting five points ahead of Nottingham Forest in the Championship table so that wasn’t an easy draw, but you have to say there’s a big gulf in class between the sides here. Nottingham Forest are having a good season in the Championship as they battle for a Playoff spot but what can you say about Liverpool other than how impressive they have been this season.
Liverpool were in action midweek as they saw off Arsenal to win 2-0 to put back-to-back 2-0 wins together. Arsenal were good in the first half, but Liverpool dug in and soaked up the pressure to come out on top in the second half. Liverpool have been fantastic going forward, they are creating an average xG of 2.7 per Premier League game this season, and they are conceding less than a goal per game on average too. They are incredible figures, and to be honest they should ease past this Forest side. It’s going to take a lot of the “magic of the Cup” to see anything bar a Liverpool win here. Forest have been creating some decent xG figures in the Championship recently, and we could easily see a pretty open game here. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.55 which is a tempting bet, but I feel that Forest can get on the scoresheet here and Both Teams To Score is worth a small bet at 2.02. I couldn’t put anyone off over 2.5 goals, but in an open game I can see Liverpool conceding at some stage on their way to a win. This is a game for small stakes to finish the weekend but BTTS is the bet.
The Striker Says:
One point win Both Teams To Score at 2.02 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
