FA CUP SUNDAY: The Striker looks ahead to the FA Cup Third round games on Sunday between CARDIFF CITY v LEEDS and MANCHESTER CITY v CHELSEA both including a recommended BETDAQ bet.

CARDIFF CITY V LEEDS

2pm The FA Cup Third Round continues on BETDAQ Betting Exchange and we have another busy day ahead on Sunday. As I said in my preview of Saturday, when there’s so many games kicking off at similar times, it’s important to pick out the best betting or trading opportunities and focus on them. Trying to do too many games can be overwhelming. No doubt all eyes will be on Manchester City v Chelsea later, but Cardiff v Leeds looks a very interesting fixture earlier in the day so I’m happy to start there. Hopefully there’s no trouble off the pitch as these two are known for having hardcore fans! Leeds come into the game as the odds on favourites, they are trading 1.88 at the time of writing and although the Cardiff fans will be right behind their team here, they have been really struggling in the Championship this season. The change of competition might suit them in that sense, but they currently sit down in 20th in the Championship only two points away from the bottom three. They are definitely in the mix for relegation this season and have a battle ahead.

While Leeds currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League, they also have relegation worries. They, like Cardiff, are only two points away from the bottom three. It looks very competitive in the relegation battle in the Premier League this season, and it’s likely we see some changes here. I think it’s a real shame that clubs like Leeds opt to rest players rather than go on a Cup run; let’s wait and see the teams news but that’s been a familiar story over the last few seasons! It will be interesting to see what way this game plays out because Cardiff games are usually quite boring – looking at their stats they don’t create or concede a lot of chances – both average xG figures are just 1.0! Compare that to Leeds, who are usually full of action in end-to-end games – they still have a lot of issues to solve at the back too. I feel we might see a cagey game here, especially if Leeds make changes to their main starting XI so I’m happy with a small bet on Under 2.5 goals at 2.02. I can see Cardiff sitting back, so it’s up to Leeds to make the running here.

The Striker Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.02 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

MANCHESTER CITY V CHELSEA

4.30pm When the Third Round draw was made, this was no doubt the highlight! Manchester City and Chelsea meet very quickly again after their Premier League clash on Thursday night. We’re likely to see changes from both sides here, so we’ll probably see a very different game but it’s another intriguing one nonetheless. Both sides had their moments on Thursday night, but overall City deserved to win – they created the better chances. It was another setback for Graham Potter and Chelsea who are having a terrible season. As the Sky Sports lads said on Thursday night, it’s remarkable that they’ve spent £300 million and gone backwards. In my opinion, which is now also with hindsight, they should have never sacked Thomas Tuchel. Potter hasn’t improved the team, you can see that looking at the xG figures. You can’t blame him, he had to take the job but if things don’t turn around quickly I’d say he’ll be under pressure. Taking a role at a big club and getting sacked so quickly would be hard to come back from, if that happened. The market is expecting another Manchester City win here, with the home side trading as short as 1.41 at the time of writing. You can understand that price – even if both sides name their second XI; such is the wealth of talent City have their second XI would probably battle for a European spot in the Premier League!

Given the run of Chelsea at the moment, it will be interesting to see what kind of XI Potter goes with. He’ll be tempted to name a very strong XI in my opinion. I know the FA Cup isn’t viewed as it once was by clubs, but Chelsea need a win – they need a confidence boost from somewhere. Guardiola will definitely make changes, and I can see the game being closer than odds of 1.41 suggest. I know Chelsea have a lot of injury worries at the moment, indeed the start of the game on Thursday didn’t go well at all in that regard, but I feel they are worth supporting here. I’m keep stakes small because it’s purely from a value point of view but I’m happy with the City lay at 1.41. We landed a confident Max Bet on Man City on Thursday night, but betting is all about getting value long-term and I feel City are just a little too short here.

The Striker Says:
One point lay (liability) Manchester City to beat Chelsea at 1.41 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
