PLYMOUTH ARGYLE V LIVERPOOL

3pm The Fourth Round of the FA Cup continues on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE with Liverpool, Aston Villa and Spurs all in action on Sunday. All eyes will no doubt be on the clash between Aston Villa and Spurs – that’s probably the highlight fixture of the Fourth Round to be honest. We kick off the day however with Plymouth Argyle hosting Liverpool. It’s already been a good week for Liverpool in Cup football – they absolutely hammered Spurs on Thursday night to reach the Carabao Cup Final. They meet Newcastle there, and Arne Slot’s men will be big favourites to land a trophy – it’s been a dream start for Slot. Liverpool already have the Premier League in the bag in my opinion, and they are in a very good position in the Champions League too. It’ll be interesting to see what type of XI Slot opts to go for here; obviously there is a huge gulf in class between the sides, and if he was looking at a fixture to rest players then this would be it. They have a Merseyside Derby midweek, and they have a hectic fixture list coming up in the Premier League; after Wolves next weekend they then meet Aston Villa and Manchester City away from home in the space of a few days.

As you would expect, Liverpool come into the game as the red-hot favourites. They are trading 1.17 with Plymouth Argyle 21.0 and the draw is 9.4 at the time of writing. Plymouth have been really struggling this season – they currently sit bottom of the Championship. Maybe the change of competition will be a welcome change, but it’s hard to see past a comfortable Liverpool win here. With the reds trading as short as 1.17 though, we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value. I am going to keep stakes small here before the off – we usually don’t go big on Cup games anyway – however, looking at the Liverpool fixture list I would be surprised if we didn’t see some changes here. I would definitely keep an eye on the market when the team news comes through. Plymouth have been playing some poor football this season – their average xG created of 1.05 is the worst in the Championship, and they have the worst defensive figure too! I feel Liverpool can keep a clean sheet here on the way to winning, and I’m happy with a small position on Both Teams Not To Score at 1.66.

ASTON VILLA V TOTTENHAM

5.35pm We have the tie of the Fourth Round next as Aston Villa host Spurs. Once again Spurs were in the headlines midweek for all the wrong reasons as they were hammered 4-0 by Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Semi-Final second leg. Even though Liverpool went into that tie as the red-hot favourites, Spurs did have a one goal lead and they had also just broken their run without a win in the Premier League. They were totally outplayed though, created next to nothing and wet out with a whimper – I think that was the most disappointing thing for the fans. Ange Postecoglou made a speech earlier in the season about how he usually wins a trophy in his second season – everyone joked that he must have forgot he’s managing Spurs – the Carabao Cup was his best shot of backing up that comment, and there’s a good chance that their season is over domestically by the end of this game. Speaking of being in the headlines, Marcus Rashford arriving at Aston Villa created a lot of debate – particularly the photos of him signing. I don’t think there was a Manchester United fan looking at those photos that felt sad he was gone. He looked like he had just got out of bed.

Obviously there’s a huge amount of pressure on Spurs at the moment, and it’ll be interesting to see what type of performance we get from them. Aston Villa come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.77 with Spurs 4.4 and the draw is 4.5 at the time of writing. I have to say given all the issues Spurs are having at the moment, I did expect to see Villa trading shorter when I clicked into the market. The negative from a Villa point of view is that their average xG created is only 1.33 in the Premier League this season, and that’s the sixth worst attacking figure – only the bottom five have worse attacking figures. That does make me want to reduce my stakes here, but it’s still hard to get away from the Villa bet at 1.77. Spurs have just been too easy to play through lately – I know they’ve had lot of injury issues, but they’ve been all over the place at the back too. I feel two points feels like the right stake given that Villa xG figure.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Aston Villa to beat Tottenham at 1.77 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
