LEICESTER V SOUTHAMPTON

6.30pm The Chelsea v Man City Semi-Final on Saturday might have been more talked about, but I find this fixture fascinating. An FA Cup Final appearance would be massive for both sides, and would give Leicester a real boost towards the end of the season after having such a poor finish to last season. I feel like they will meet Southampton at a very good time, and I have to say it’s hard to get away from the Leicester win at 1.93 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange.

Leicester are having a fantastic season in the Premier League as they started the weekend in third place. However, two recent losses have put them under pressure for the Top Four race, especially with Chelsea and Liverpool chasing with West Ham starting the weekend in fourth position. Those two losses came against Man City and West Ham though, and although the West Ham loss might have been a little disappointing – the Hammers are playing excellent football at the moment and you can forgive any side a loss to Man City.

When you look at the xG figures, I feel there is a clear winner here. I would be very surprised to see Southampton get a result here, as they come into the game in terrible form. I know the change in competition can bring a better performance and perhaps you could say the same about a visit to Wembley, but Southampton are playing average football at the moment.

They lost 3-0 to West Brom last weekend, and although they beat Burnley 3-2 I would be more worried about them conceding twice against a very poor Burnley side. They haven’t been playing terribly, but they do lack a spark and they have been losing tight games too. I know Leicester lost a tight game to West Ham but that was a quality fixture between two good sides, Southampton have been losing to West Brom, Brighton, Everton, Wolves and Newcastle since February. I can only see one winner here and Leicester look at least ten ticks too big for me at 1.93. It’s not quite a Max Bet, but it’s a very confident selection.
