PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: The Striker previews TOTTENHAM v ARSENAL and WOLVES v NEWCASTLE both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
TOTTENHAM V ARSENAL
2pm It’s a blockbuster Super Sunday from the Premier League on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! All eyes are on the North London Derby to kick off the action as Spurs host Arsenal – this is always a cracking fixture that usually produces a lot of drama! Spurs have already dropped plenty of points with a loss to Newcastle prior to the International Break and their 1-1 draw with Leicester on the opening weekend. That leaves them sitting in mid-table, but they have been creating a lot of chances. Their average xG created is 1.92 which is the second best attacking figure in the Premier League behind Manchester City. Spurs also have the second best defensive figure behind Manchester City too; it’s very early days but if they could hold these figures they will have a very successful season! As we all know with Spurs though, disaster is never far away – it’s hard to see them going through this game without a mistake at the back at some point, and Arteta will be hoping his side are ready to take full advantage. Arsenal dropped points prior to the International Break with a 1-1 draw with Brighton, but they seem to have resumed where they were from last season, and more than likely they’ll be second behind Manchester City again this season.
We have an open betting heat with Arsenal coming into the game as the favourites. Arsenal are trading 2.4 with Tottenham 3.1 and the draw is 3.75 at the time of writing. It goes without saying a North London Derby is always a fascinating game, but it will be very interesting to see how Arsenal get on here with Spurs creating so much. They might not have the results to show for it at the moment, and of course it’s very early days in the season, but you’d have to be impressed with the stats coming from Spurs. I do feel that the 2.4 is a little short on Arsenal, but I also expect plenty of drama and chances. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.63 with Both Teams To Score a couple of ticks shorter at 1.55. We had a 3-2 and a 2-2 last season when the sides met, eight of the last ten meetings have finished with Over 2.5 goals with the two meetings that finished Unders 2-0. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet to be honest, but I marginally prefer Both Teams To Score at 1.55 – it’s hard to not see goals and drama here.

WOLVES V NEWCASTLE
4.30pm We finish Sunday in the Premier League with Wolves hosting Newcastle – a little less glamorous than the North London Derby but we do have another interesting market here. Newcastle come into the game as the favourites at 2.18 with Wolves 3.45 and the draw is 3.85 at the time of writing. Newcastle will be very pleased with their start to the season sitting on seven points after three games. However, there are some red flags in their performance levels. Obviously they have had some troubles off the pitch – it’s never nice to sell players you don’t want to but obviously the financial rules forced their hand. Wolves have had a difficult start to the season, but they have had a difficult fixture list having to play Arsenal and Chelsea – they were hammered against Chelsea but bounced back OK to get a point away to Nottingham Forest. That still leaves them in the relegation zone though, and to be honest they look likely to be involved in the relegation battle this season. Obviously the gulf in class between the Premier League and the Championship is massive these days with all the money in the Premier League, but outside of the three newly promoted sides it looks like Everton and Wolves would be the two to also be involved in the relegation battle.
You have to stress that it’s very early days in the season, but Newcastle’s figures are very poor. They have the second worst attacking figure with an average xG created of only 1.01, and their defensive figure is the joint-second worst too. Based on that, the 2.18 does feel very short especially away from home. Newcastle conceded so many chances and goals away from home last season too. The main issue from a betting point of view here is Wolves are a very poor side too, and it’s hard to have much faith in them. For that reason, I’m going to stay away from the Newcastle lay – we should see plenty of mistakes at the back from both sides here, and Over 2.5 goals looks a nice position at 1.59. Both Teams To Score is also a nice option at 1.53, and I feel that offers marginally better value. Newcastle clearly concede plenty of chances away from home, and although Wolves are limited going forward they should get chances here. We should have an open game, and it would be surprise if we didn’t see goals in my opinion.
