TOTTENHAM V ASTON VILLA

2pm It’s a top class Super Sunday from the Premier League on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week! No doubt all the focus will be on Manchester United hosting Chelsea in the prime time TV Sunday afternoon slot after Erik ten Hag got sacked this week, but before we get there we have another cracker with Spurs hosting Aston Villa. Spurs took full advantage of Pep Guardiola deciding to rest players midweek in their Carabao Cup tie, but Aston Villa crashed out at home to Crystal Palace which was a very disappointing result. Villa come into the weekend sitting in the Top Four though, and they have been ticking away nicely getting the job done in classic Unai Emery fashion to be honest. At times it’s not pretty and they aren’t a side full of attacking flare, but everyone knows their job well and there aren’t many mistakes. The same thing can’t be said about Spurs! Ange Postecoglou must be tearing his hair out watching his players sometimes – obviously the second half against Brighton is always going to come to mind, indeed Postecoglou turned into a meme standing on the pitch after that game wondering where it all went wrong. Spurs have been playing some superb football this season, but sometimes “Spursy” is never far away.

Spurs have an average xG created of 1.86 this season, which is the second best attacking figure in the Premier League – only Manchester City are creating more chances. They have also been very impressive at the back; their average xG conceded is 1.12 which is again the second best in the Premier League, again only behind Manchester City. Spurs are already ten points behind City though, and they come into this weekend sitting down in eighth place. I’m not really sure what else Postecoglou can do to be honest – he just needs results. Spurs come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.96 with Aston Villa 3.8 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing. While Spurs have been playing good football, I wouldn’t be rushing to back them at 1.96 here; Villa have the knack of winning that Spurs lack. Villa haven’t created much this season, but they do have the third best defensive figure and Emery will have them well set up here. The market is really expecting goals with Over 2.5 goals trading as short as 1.49 – I’m not really sure I agree with that! Both sides have been solid at the back, and I can’t see Emery letting this game get too open – I’m going to have a small position on Unders from a value point of view.

The Striker Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.94 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

MANCHESTER UNITED V CHELSEA

4.30pm There’s no doubt what game is going to be the focus this weekend! Manchester United hosting Chelsea was already a massive game, but the sacking of Erik ten Hag has increased interest tenfold. Once again, it’s fascinating to see how the United players perform now they have got rid of another manager. It didn’t take long for the stories to break that Erik ten Hag wanted different tactics for the FA Cup Final and had to be “talked into playing a different way” – apparently the dressing room felt “relief” when he was sacked. We’ve been here before, countless times. Now the process starts again – United posted their first win with an entertaining 5-2 over Leicester here in the Carabao Cup during the week, and you wouldn’t be surprised at all to see them put in their best performance of the season here either. The major issue with this Untied squad is you just don’t know what type of performance you’re going to get with them – will they play for each other, stick to tactics, or down tools? They were good in the first half against West Ham last weekend, but then they went to pieces in the second – they suddenly go from playing as a team to very individual.

It seems a done deal that Ruben Amorim will take over. He has a very similar profile to Erik ten Hag – a high win ratio in a smaller league and it will be interesting to see how long he lasts before he’s thrown under the bus by the dressing room. Chelsea have been picking up a lot of wins this season without too much fuss, especially considering all their drama during the summer months, and they will be a popular bet here. We have an exceptionally open betting heat with the two sides the same price at the time of writing – it’s not often that happens – both Manchester United and Chelsea are trading 2.68 with the draw 3.85. If I had to lean towards one, it would definitely be Chelsea at 2.68 but I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market because this game screams goals. United were exceptionally open on Wednesday, and I can see them going all-out attacking here again. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.51 and that jumps off the page here in what should be an open game – I feel we’re getting so much value it’s worth a Five Star NAP!

The Striker Says:
Five points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.51 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
