FULHAM V IPSWICH

2pm Another massive Super Sunday from the Premier League on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! No doubt that all eyes will be on Liverpool v Manchester United later given the history between those two clubs, and most football fans will view Fulham v Ipswich as the filler to get to the big game! Ipswich did give themselves a massive boost last weekend when beating Chelsea, and now they have a fighting chance at staying up. They will likely need one of Everton or Wolves to take their place in the relegation zone however – at the moment, it looks like Southampton and Leicester are very likely to be the bottom two. Fulham are very strong at home though, and they come into this game as the odds on favourites. Fulham are trading 1.61 with Ipswich 6.2 and the draw is 4.5 at the time of writing. Fulham also recently recorded a win over Chelsea – these two clubs have effectively put an end to Chelsea’s title bid within a week. In fairness to Chelsea, they weren’t getting included in the title race at the start of the season – they just found themselves involved with Arsenal and Manchester City dropping so many points!

Ipswich obviously bring a lot of confidence into this game after the Chelsea win, but I wouldn’t read too much into that. Chelsea finished the game with an xG figure of 1.71 and it was just one of those games that they just couldn’t find the net. The Ipswich stats are very poor – their average xG created of 1.05 is the second worst attacking figure in the Premier League. The three promoted clubs are a little adrift looking at the attacking figures this season. Not only that, but Ipswich have been poor at the back too; they are in the bottom five on defensive figures. Put everything together and it’s not surprising that they are in the relegation zone – with home advantage, in my opinion the 1.61 is a cracking bet on Fulham here. They always play better in front of their own fans, and they are playing much better football compared to Ipswich this season too. I’d have Fulham closer to 1.5 here, and at 1.61 I’m happy to start Super Sunday with a Five Star NAP!

LIVERPOOL V MANCHESTER UNITED

4.30pm Old rivals clash in the prime time Super Sunday TV slot as Liverpool host Manchester United. Despite all the highs and lows both clubs have been through, this fixture is always massive given it’s the two biggest and best supported clubs in the country. Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea don’t even come close in reality. There was a time not too long ago Manchester United would come into this clash as the odds on favourites and Liverpool were a mid-table club. Now the tables have turned; and by quite a lot too. The gulf in class between the clubs now is absolutely massive, and the betting highlights it. Liverpool come into the game as the red-hot favourites at 1.29 with Manchester United trading 11.0 and the draw is 6.8 at the time of writing. I know Ruben Amorim got a win recently away to Manchester City, but that result is long forgotten about with losses to Bournemouth, Wolves and Newcastle. United couldn’t even score in those three games, and while Ruben Amorim has got some criticism for some United fans; surely the finger has to be pointed towards the players at this stage. They’ve thrown so many managers under the bus, it will be very interesting what happens over the next few weeks and months.

Liverpool have put United to the sword in recent years. The last two meetings have finished 3-0 to Liverpool but we’ve had score lines of 7-0, 4-0 and 5-0 since 2021. One wonders the type of pressure Amorim is feeling; surely he’s got a lot of backing from the board and owners at the moment, but coming into this game you get the feeling it could get very embarrassing for United. The effort from the players in recent games has been lacklustre – especially against Wolves and Newcastle. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see a big score line here, and I was actually surprised to see Over 2.5 goals trading 1.46. I thought it would be shorter to be honest. Liverpool are trading 1.79 to cover the 1.5 goal handicap and that looks exceptionally good value in my opinion. United have been all over the place at the back recently – especially from set pieces. I have a lot of time for the new manager, but he has a squad unable to meet his means for his system. Liverpool can win comfortably win, and I’m happy with a second Five Star NAP today on them to cover the handicap.
