NEWCASTLE V NOTTINGHAM FOREST

2pm We have a huge Super Sunday from the Premier League on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! There’s no doubt that all eyes will be on Manchester City v Liverpool in the prime time TV slot, especially after Liverpool dropped points midweek too. However, we start the day with another massive game as Newcastle host Nottingham Forest in the race for the European spots. Back-to-back losses for Newcastle has knocked the wind out of their sail recently, but they start the day only three points behind Manchester City. Nottingham Forest are having a dream season as they come into the weekend sitting in third, but are the cracks starting to show? They still have a nice cushion but you feel that they need something here to steady the ship, especially given Newcastle are one of the sides in the mix for a Top Four spot. The reality is most football fans will expect Manchester City and Chelsea to take up third and fourth come the end of the season, but the winner of this fixture will likely have a big say in things. The stakes couldn’t be higher for these two, and it’ll be interesting to see what type of game we get and how open it is.

Newcastle come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.87 with Nottingham Forest 4.3 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing. Both sides have been over-performing up front – it’s fair to say that Nottingham Forest have been the biggest over-performing side this season, but to go from close to the relegation battle to a Champions League battle is quite something! Forest have an average xG conceded of 1.61 which is very high, but sides just haven’t been taking their chances against them and their actual goals conceded average is only 1.16. While Forest have reasonably poor under-lining numbers, I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 1.87 on Newcastle here – Newcastle actually aren’t far behind Forest on their average xG conceded figure. In my opinion we’ll get a game closer than the odds suggest, but I’m happy to stay away from the match odds market because this game screams goals and action. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.72 and that looks cracking value in what should be an open and entertaining game!

The Striker Says:
Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.72 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

MANCHESTER CITY V LIVERPOOL

4.30pm There’s no doubt this is the highlight of the week as Manchester City host Liverpool. A few seasons ago this was a top of the table clash that might have decided the title, but Manchester City have been miles off the pace this season. Pep Guardiola had a little pop at Liverpool and Arne Slot saying they already won’t get 100 points this season – I don’t think they’ll care about the amount of points if they are lifting the title again! These two both had an unenjoyable Wednesday night with Manchester City crashing out of the Champions League in Madrid, while Liverpool dropped points in the Premier League with a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa. That result has slightly opened the door for Arsenal in the title race coming into this weekend, and a loss here would certainly pile the pressure on Liverpool. We could be looking at a very entertaining title race after it looked like Liverpool had one hand on the title. As I said in my preview of the Aston Villa game, this was always a difficult run for Liverpool and would likely decide how the run-in goes – they could easily win here and slam the door shut again. We all know City have been woeful at the back at times this season too.

We have an open betting heat, and Liverpool come into the game as the favourites at 2.4 with Manchester City 2.96 and the draw is 4.0 at the time of writing. For all that Manchester United have been the butt of many Premier League jokes this season, City have conceded the same amount of goals – that just highlights how poor City have been at the back this season. They have been far too easy to play through at times – obviously they’ve had a lot of injury problems but they’ve been collapsing at the end of games far too often this season. In the match odds market, the 2.4 on Liverpool makes a lot of appeal – Nunez had a golden chance to win the game for them on Wednesday night too – it had an xG of 0.89! This game also screams goals though; Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.47 which I thought would be shorter before clicking into the market to be honest. Liverpool have been absolutely superb going forward, it’s hard to see City keeping a clean sheet and with home advantage, you know they’ll fight fire with fire too. Overs is obviously a tempting bet, but the 2.4 on Liverpool looks a cracking value bet in my opinion to beat an average City side this season.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Liverpool to beat Manchester City at 2.4 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
