ARSENAL V CHELSEA

1.30pm While all eyes might be on the Carabao Cup Final at Wembley, we have a huge Super Sunday from the Premier League too on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We start slightly earlier in the day and then have an evening fixture as we break for the Carabao Cup Final slot. We kick off the day with a cracking London derby as Arsenal host Chelsea – unfortunately for Arsenal fans, this is nearly a more important game for Chelsea. Arsenal are out of the title race after a loss and two draws from their last three games; they were already in a difficult position prior to that run, but that’s put the season to bed. Chelsea have a huge battle on their hands for a Top Four spot, and given they come into this weekend with Manchester City behind them they are clearly under pressure. Everyone is expecting Nottingham Forest to drop out of the Top Four as the season goes on, but that win last weekend over Manchester City was massive for their chances. Chelsea have been struggling lately – only four wins from their last twelve games and those wins have come against Wolves, West Ham, Southampton and Leicester all with home advantage.

You could say that we have two sides here that definitely have question marks about them, and it’s hard to have a lot of confidence in either side at the moment. The media have clearly been getting at Arteta recently too; he stormed off after being asked about the gap which only highlights the head-loss. Arsenal come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.87 with Chelsea 4.7 and the draw is 3.85 at the time of writing. While I feel that the 1.87 is a little short on Arsenal, Chelsea haven’t inspired confidence lately so I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here. It’s hard to see a cagey game; perhaps Chelsea will view this as a game where they would be happy to accept a draw but Arsenal have no reason not to go for it given the situation. I feel we’ll see a more open game than the market is expecting and I’m happy to take the 1.97 on Over 2.5 goals. Chelsea have been quite sloppy at the back on this current run; as have Arsenal to be honest and we should see an entertaining game.

LEICESTER V MANCHESTER UNITED

7pm We have a gap for the Carabao Cup, and then we come back to Premier League action as Leicester host Manchester United. We have an absolutely fascinating market here – Manchester United come into the game as the odds on favourites given how poor Leicester have been this season, but quite obviously backing Manchester United has come with a massive wealth warning this season. United are trading 1.87 with Leicester 4.6 and the draw is 3.9 at the time of writing. There’s no doubt that we’ll have some big opinions either side of the book here on the United price. I wouldn’t be taking them at odds on personally given the season that they are having, but I would also suggest that they have been better away from home compared to their performances at Old Trafford. Add that to the fact that there’s really not much positive to say about Leicester though, so I wouldn’t recommend laying United here – I’d rather stay out of the match odds market to be honest. Leicester have the joint-worst attacking figure in the Premier League with Southampton – their average xG created is only 1.1 and they have the third worst defensive figure with an average xG conceded of 1.79.

It’s easy to see why they are sitting in the bottom three and heading back down to the Championship. United have clearly been struggling this season, but this is a game that they should get the job done in – you just wouldn’t back them at odds on. Leicester are on a terrible run at the moment – twelve losses from thirteen games and a lot of them have had plenty of action. United have clearly been sloppy at the back this season so while Leicester have been limited creating chances, I do feel that they can get on the score sheet at some point. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.84 and Both Teams To Score is five ticks shorter at 1.79. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet to be honest; United won 3-0 when the sides met earlier in the season and they won in a very entertaining 5-2 clash in the Carabao Cup too. These two seem to match up well for an open and entertaining game with plenty of goals. Overs is a confident bet to finish the day for me as we head into the International Break.
