BOURNEMOUTH V NEWCASTLE

2pm It’s another fascinating Super Sunday from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange! There’s no doubt that all the focus will be on Arsenal v Manchester City in the prime time TV slot, but we kick off the action with an interesting market as Bournemouth host Newcastle. We have a reasonably open betting heat; Bournemouth come into the game as the favourites at 2.42 with Newcastle 3.15 and the draw is 3.6 at the time of writing. It might surprise a few casual football fans that Bournemouth are the favourites here, but they have been playing some very nice football lately. Last season they finished with a fifth best attacking figure in the Premier League; this season they come into this weekend with the fourth best attacking figure! They have created more than Arsenal and Manchester City this season; and they gave a very good account of themselves in their loss away to Liverpool too. Newcastle have obviously been through a lot already this season – they had a poor transfer window and then all the Isak drama which was a toxic environment. They finally got their first win of the season last weekend; again though they have been playing nice football.

They could have easily got a draw when they played Liverpool, and additionally they have been very solid at the back. After everyone had played four games, Newcastle actually had the best defensive figure. They gave a decent account of themselves midweek in the Champions League too; obviously they had a massive task at hand against Barcelona and lost 2-1. We have two very similar sides here; there’s actually plenty of positives around both of them this season. I’m not surprised that we have an open betting heat, and I would have the market even more open. Newcastle have shown more than enough to suggest that they can get a result here – I’d have Bournemouth a little bigger than 2.42 to be honest. From a value point of view, I really like the draw here at 3.6 in what should be a very close game. Both sides have a very similar profile, and they can cancel each other out.

ARSENAL V MANCHESTER CITY

4.30pm We finish the weekend with the best fixture of Matchday 5 as Arsenal host Manchester City. We’ve actually had some top class fixtures this weekend with the Merseyside Derby and Manchester United v Chelsea on Saturday, but there’s no doubt what is the biggest fixture of the weekend. City are the ones under immense pressure here coming into the game already off the pace with two losses from their opening four games. Both losses exceptionally disappointing too; they played poorly against Spurs and then lost from 1-0 up against Brighton. Obviously they got a nice confidence boost last weekend with a 3-0 win in the Manchester Derby, but United have been having so many issues it’s hard to read too much into that. Away to Arsenal here, this will be the acid test. Is it too early to suggest a loss here would see City out of the title race? Many Premier League fans would say they are already out such is the ruthlessness nature of things these days! City had a smooth 2-0 win midweek over Napoli in the Champions League, while Arsenal did well to beat Athletic Bilbao away from home on Tuesday. We should have a cracker here!

The market might surprise a few here! Arsenal come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.95 with Manchester City 4.1 and the draw is 3.95 at the time of writing. That market is a reflection of how much City have struggled last season, and it’s clear to see that they haven’t been at their best this season either. In the Spurs game, they finished with the lower xG figure which is obviously disappointing with home advantage. Arsenal have been exceptionally solid this season, and it is hard to find fault with them – you can really see why so many pundits fancy them for the title – however, obviously the problem is getting over the line! All things considered though, I do feel that the 1.95 on Arsenal is a little too short here; I just expect a closer game than the odds suggest here. I know City have had their issues this season, but they are still a top side and I’m happy to lay Arsenal at odds on.

The Striker Says:
Two points lay (liability) Arsenal to beat Manchester City at 1.95 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
