PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: The Striker previews Super Sunday from the Premier League as Aston Villa host Fulham and Newcastle host Arsenal, both with recommended BETDAQ bet’s.
ASTON VILLA V FULHAM
2pm Another intriguing Super Sunday from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange awaits! Newcastle hosting Arsenal is undoubtedly the highlight fixture of the day in the prime time Super Sunday TV slot, but we kick off the day with another very interesting market as Aston Villa host Fulham. Unai Emery and his Aston Villa side have been really struggling this season, and they come into this weekend sitting in the relegation zone. It’s almost ironic how much pressure Ruben Amorim is under at Manchester United and you have Unai Emery being talked about for his job, when his side has only managed one goal in five games! They finally found the net last weekend, but one goal wasn’t enough to beat Sunderland and they had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Their average xG created is only 1.24 at the moment which isn’t an impressive figure – Ollie Watkins was dropped midweek in the Europa League here against Bologna – I think it’s fair to say something is just missing from Villa at the moment. They have lacked a spark at the start of the season. No time like the present to kick off your season though!
Aston Villa come into the game as the favourites at 2.4 with Fulham 3.55 and the draw is 3.25 at the time of writing. Despite getting a win under their belt midweek in the Europa League, I still feel that the 2.4 is a little short on Villa here. However, I’m keen to keep stakes low here – despite having more points than Villa, Fulham actually have a lower performance level so far this season. Their average xG created of 1.17 puts Fulham in the bottom five on attacking figures this season – they haven’t had a difficult fixture list either. Fulham have conceded less chances compared to Villa this season. It’s quite easy to pick holes in both sides here to be honest – I do feel that the market should be more open and I would lean towards the Villa lay. However, Under 2.5 goals stands out here at 1.78. Both sides have clearly struggled to create good quality chances this season; Fulham have scored more but with home advantage here you’d expect Villa to be solid at the back. Unders looks a nice position in a game for small stakes.

NEWCASTLE V ARSENAL
4.30pm We finish Super Sunday with Newcastle hosting Arsenal, and this should be a cracker. Newcastle have had a tough start to the season – obviously they had all the drama in the summer with the Isak situation along with missing out on big signings. Their start to the season has been lacklustre, it feels like they need something good to happen to kick off their season! Arsenal come into the weekend five points behind Liverpool after their draw against Manchester City last weekend – Arteta once again said some odd things in the press confidence about bossing the game. They definitely didn’t boss the game. Obviously getting an equaliser late is always a good buzz, but Arsenal did go into that game as the odds on so from that point of view a draw is a disappointing result. St James’ Park is always a tough place to come and if Arsenal drop points here, there’s only so long Arteta can keep saying they are bossing games without results. It’s no surprise to see Arsenal come into this game as the favourites, but they aren’t trading odds on – a reflection that this is always a tricky place to come.
Arsenal are trading 2.24 with Newcastle 3.75 and the draw is 3.45 at the time of writing. Arsenal come into this weekend with an average xG created of 1.48, which isn’t an especially impressive figure – compared to how they are talking about games anyway! Manchester United have an average xG created of 1.74 for example. It is a better figure than Newcastle though. However, Newcastle have been very impressive at the back this season – their average xG conceded is only 0.95 which is the best defensive figure in the Premier League coming into this weekend. It’s easy to see why Arsenal aren’t odds on here! I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here because Under 2.5 goals looks a very nice position at 1.75. Arsenal have obviously built their recent success on being solid at the back – both sides come into the game sitting in the top three on defensive figures and I’d expect a reasonably cagey game. Unders is a confident bet.
