BRIGHTON V MANCHESTER CITY

2pm We have a cracking Super Sunday from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange! We have wall-to-wall top class fixtures with some very interesting betting heats too! Obviously Liverpool v Arsenal rightfully takes its place in the prime time Sunday TV slot and that game will produce the most talking points of the weekend, but either side of that fixture we have another two intriguing fixtures as well. This is the last day of Premier League action before we head into an International Break, which I have to say feels like it has come far too early into the domestic season. Nevertheless, we kick off the Sunday action with Brighton hosting Manchester City. Pep Guardiola and City were put to the sword last weekend with a 2-0 loss at home. Spurs seems to be City’s bogey side! Perhaps that is an early sign that City won’t be strong this season again – they are known for having slow starts but clearly Guardiola should have learned his lesson in that regard. It will be very interesting to see how they bounce back here; they’ve spent a lot of money (as usual) during the summer and another loss would see them under a lot of pressure to stay in the title race.

Brighton have definitely been a little lacklustre at the start of the season, and you could make the case that City don’t have to be at their best to win here to be honest. Brighton didn’t create much in a 1-1 draw with Fulham on the opening weekend, and then suffered a 2-0 defeat to Everton in the first game at the Hill Dickenson Stadium. Manchester City come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.93 with Brighton 4.1 and the draw is also trading 4.1 at the time of writing. I know there are a couple of issues with City at the moment – they are quite clearly going through a period of transition and it might not just be a case of one season and back to winning. However, watching Brighton play their opening two games I just feel that they are there for the taking – the 1.93 on City looks cracking value in my opinion. I actually feel we’re getting enough value here to have the first Five Star NAP of the season!

The Striker Says:
Five points win Manchester City to beat Brighton at 1.93 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

LIVERPOOL V ARSENAL

4.30pm Is there a better fixture than Liverpool v Arsenal for the prime time Super Sunday TV slot? Judging by the betting – and even more so if Manchester City fail to beat Brighton earlier in the day – the title will go to one of these two this season. Heading into this weekend, Arsenal are just about favourites – that has been a big change this pre-season. I know Liverpool got the job done against Newcastle on Monday night, but their performance was quite poor. And then obviously they were in control 2-0 up against Bournemouth only to give us a dramatic finish as it went 2-2 before Liverpool won the game. Say what you want about this Liverpool side; it’s never dull! It will be fascinating to see how the tactics play out here; Arteta has focused on making Arsenal rock solid at the back but the criticism has been that has come at a cost going forward. Arsenal probably can’t go toe-to-toe with Liverpool in a very open and attacking game, but if Arteta does want to make the game tight and scrappy, how many gaps will Liverpool leave at the back?

With home advantage, Liverpool come into the game as the favourites at 2.32 with Arsenal 3.45 and the draw is 3.55 at the time of writing. Arsenal have kept two clean sheets so far, but they conceded a tonne of chances against Manchester United at Old Trafford – most football fans came away from that game feeling United were the better side, which is a bad sign for Arsenal given how poor United have been this season! The market is leaning towards an open game too with Over 2.5 goals trading 1.79 – the recent meetings have actually been packed with goals. Last season saw two 2-2 draws, and in all competitions Over 2.5 goals has collect in five of the last seven. Both Teams To Score looks a very nice bet at 1.65 too – that’s collected in the last six Premier League meetings between the sides and given the way Liverpool play, that looks a very nice position here in my opinion.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Both Teams To Score at 1.65 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

ASTON VILLA V CRYSTAL PALACE

7pm We finish Sunday in the Premier League with Aston Villa hosting Crystal Palace – it’s not a usual time for a Premier League fixture, but this fixture got moved after Crystal Palace had to play in the UEFA Conference League playoffs on Thursday night. Luckily for Palace, they got through with a 1-0 win over Fredrikstad over the two legs. I have to say, it’s actually been exceptionally unlucky for Palace not to get into the Europa League for this season after winning the FA Cup; it’s just unfortunate the way the European placings worked out this season with Spurs winning the Europa League. Palace have probably had their highlight of the season already though after winning the Community Shield against Liverpool at Wembley – as I said in my preview of that game, it would have meant far more to Crystal Palace compared to Liverpool. This should be a competitive game; Aston Villa have had a lacklustre start to the season and they really need a win. By the time this game kicks off, they’ll likely be sitting in the relegation zone. They were unlucky to lose 1-0 away to Brentford last weekend, but that’s what happens when you fail to take your chances.

As I said above, we have some very interesting betting heats here and this game is no difference. Aston Villa come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.92 with Crystal Palace 4.5 and the draw is 3.75 at the time of writing. Palace have started the season with two 1-1 draws; on balance they probably would have taken that given they were away to Chelsea on the opening weekend. They were a little disappointing against Nottingham Forest last weekend though; they had home advantage and created very little. We have two sides here who haven’t really fired in the early stages of the Premier League season in my opinion. The 1.92 on Villa feels a little short, but I do feel that both sides can cancel each other out here. We might have drama and goals in the two games earlier in the day, but this might be a bit boring compared to them. The draw is an appealing bet at 3.75, as is Under 2.5 goals at 1.92. I marginally prefer the draw at nice odds.

The Striker Says:
One point win Draw at 3.75 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
