PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY: The Striker previews ASTON VILLA v MANCHESTER CITY and EVERTON v TOTTENHAM both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ASTON VILLA V MANCHESTER CITY
2pm We have a cracking Super Sunday from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange! We have a busy day with more fixture than on Saturday; we kick off the day with four games kicking off at 2pm and easily the pick of them is Aston Villa hosting Manchester City. This should be a fascinating game, and it’s a very interesting market too – with Liverpool dropping so many points recently, Manchester City have become the main challengers to Arsenal even with so many Premier League fans already writing them off. If they are indeed going to make a title challenge, then they need to be winning games like this. Villa are a very solid side, but they had a lacklustre start and they aren’t top class either – it’s the type of fixture you’d want to be winning to really put your name down as title challengers in my opinion! Manchester City come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.85 with Aston Villa 4.6 and the draw is 4.0 at the time of writing. City have come in a few ticks since Thursday night when Villa suffered a slightly embarrassing defeat to Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League.
They have been sitting in mid-table in the Dutch league, and Villa went into that game as the hot favourites. Looking at the under-lining numbers, they were unlucky – they finished the game with an xG of 2.33; it’s actually very rare Villa create that much! Their average xG created in the Premier League this season is only 1.24! It’s clear to see that City haven’t been at their best – their average xG created is 1.56 and a few seasons ago it was 2.0+. However, as I said above they could easily find themselves in the title battle this season. I think we’ll have quite a tight game here; I can’t see Villa wanting an open game and I expect Unai Emery to set them up very cagey. City have an average xG conceded of only 1.13 which is the second best defensive figure in the Premier League, and Villa don’t leak chances either. Under 2.5 goals is trading 2.2 and I’m surprised it’s not lower to be honest. That looks the value play to start the day.

EVERTON V TOTTENHAM
4.30pm We finish Super Sunday with another very interesting market as Everton host Spurs. I think every Spurs game is interesting because you never know what type of performance you’re going to get! They have beaten Manchester City this season, and in their next fixture lost 1-0 at home to Bournemouth. They were outplayed by Aston Villa last weekend, again with home advantage, and you still get the feeling that disaster is never far away with this Spurs squad. There’s actually very little between the sides looking at their performance levels – Spurs have an average xG created of 1.3 and Everton are just a little below that at 1.27. Everton have conceded more chances – they actually have the fourth worst defensive figure this season which is definitely something to worry about. However, they are a lot more solid at home. I know they have moved stadiums, but since David Moyes returned they have always played their best football with home advantage. At home, they are creating more than they are conceding and it’s the opposite away from home. Everton are unbeaten at home this season too, perhaps it’s not a surprise to see Everton as the favourites here.
Everton are trading 2.44 with Spurs 3.2 and the draw is 3.45 at the time of writing. I know there’s very little between the sides on attacking figures, but that defensive figure from Everton does put me off the 2.44 – despite the fact that they are clearly better at home. To be honest, I do feel sitting out of the match odds market here is a good call given how unpredictable Spurs are these days. This game does screams goals; Spurs tend to have plenty of drama in their games and Everton won’t sit back as much at home. Over 2.5 goals has collected in five of the eight Spurs Premier League fixtures this season; that’s trading 2.02 and while it’s very close, I’m surprised it’s not trading as favourite. Another option has to be Both Teams To Score at 1.8, however I’m prefer Over 2.5 goals at the bigger price – this is definitely a game for small stakes though to finish the weekend!
