WEST HAM V NEWCASTLE

2pm Another Super Sunday from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange, and we have two very interesting markets! Newcastle and Manchester City will both be expected to win their games today but they have equally dropped plenty of points already this season. Will the favourite double come good? We kick off the action in London with West Ham hosting Newcastle – it’s been a desperate season for West Ham thus far and a change in manager hasn’t done anything to stop the rot. They come into the weekend sitting in the relegation zone with four points from nine games; there’s already a four point gap to Fulham in 17th and that could be bigger by kick off with Fulham at home to Wolves on Saturday. While obviously the results have been very disappointing for West Ham, I feel the major red flag has been the effort level from the players. It almost felt like the writing was on the wall early, maybe the change in manager should have given more energy, but that performance at home to Brentford was exceptionally worrying if you’re a West Ham fan. Another loss to Leeds last weekend means they are now odds on for relegation.

Given the performance levels from West Ham this season, it’s no surprise to see Newcastle come into the game as the odds on favourites. Newcastle are trading 1.64 with West Ham 5.7 and the draw is 4.4 at the time of writing. Newcastle have the sixth best attacking figure in the Premier League coming into the weekend, but they have struggled to convert those chances and that’s why they sit in mid-table. Their average xG created is 1.53 but they have only scored a goal a game on average. West Ham have the third worst attacking figure though, and they have the second worst defensive figure as well. There are a huge amount of negatives with West Ham this season – I think the effort level from the players is the biggest worry though. I know Newcastle haven’t converted their chances this season, but it’s hard to get away from them here at 1.63 – I’m happy to be on Newcastle but keeping stakes limited.

MANCHESTER CITY V BOURNEMOUTH

4.30pm We finish Super Sunday with Manchester City hosting Bournemouth, and for the time being this is a big clash at the top of the table! Bournemouth are living the dream at the moment; they come into this weekend sitting in second place behind Arsenal! Obviously as the season goes on you’d have to expect them to drop down, but with everyone dropping points this season apart from Arsenal, maybe they can sneak into a European spot. They weren’t very far away last season, and they’ve actually been playing some nice football for a while now. They have the seventh best attacking figure for example; which might get you a Europa Conference League spot come the end of the season. Obviously they are up against it here away to Manchester City; there aren’t many more difficult fixtures in the Premier League but it’s also clear to see that City haven’t been at the best lately. It’ll be interesting to see will Bournemouth opt to attack City or sit back and play for a draw. City have an average xG created of 1.6 this season, and when they were at their best under Guardiola that figure was up at around 2.0.

City have been impressive at the back this season though. They were far too easy to play through last season, and for the time being Guardiola seems to have solved those issues. They have the second best defensive figure in the Premier League this season behind Arsenal. With home advantage, it’s not a surprise that City come into the game as the odds on favourites. Manchester City are trading 1.55 with Bournemouth 6.4 and the draw is 4.9 at the time of writing. Given how good Bournemouth have been playing this season and how high confidence must be in the camp, I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 1.55 on City here – I’d expect Bournemouth to make the game closer than those odds suggest, even if they do lose out in the end. City have been solid at the back, so I’m going to keep stakes limited here but we should have an entertaining game here in my opinion. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.6 and that looks a nice position! I wouldn’t be surprised if Bournemouth opt to attack City here, and we get a very open game.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.6 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
