CHELSEA V TOTTENHAM

7.30pm While all eyes might be on the Europa League Semi-Finals on Thursday night, we also have Premier League action on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Chelsea host Spurs. It’s back-to-back London Derbies within a few days for Spurs as they lost to Arsenal at the weekend. They have a very difficult run-in, but they still have a slim chance at a Top Four finish. Chelsea did them a favour at the weekend in that regard, bouncing back from a 5-0 hammering by Arsenal to draw 2-2 with Aston Villa at the weekend. All that adds up to Aston Villa now seven points ahead of Spurs, but Spurs have two games in hand. You don’t need me to tell you every game is must win for Spurs!

Spurs were always going to have an impact on the title race on the run-in because they had to play Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City. They didn’t get off to a good start; they were 3-0 down to Arsenal quite quickly and while they fought back to 3-2 the game was over early. It will be interesting to see what kind of tactics they employ here; Chelsea have been much worse at the back compared to Arsenal and they could easily come out on the right end of an open game. Chelsea come into the game as the favourites at 2.26 with Spurs 3.05 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing.

Both sides clearly have their flaws this season. It wouldn’t be hard to make a case against each side to be honest. Chelsea have been woeful at times this season, and their squad doesn’t look together at all. They look like they need a complete overhaul and it will be interesting to see how much they back Mauricio Pochettino in the summer. Both sides have no problem creating chances – Chelsea have an average xG created of 1.62 while for Spurs it’s 1.76. Both figures are in the top six attacking figures for the Premier League this season.

The major issues both clubs have had is defending. Chelsea have an average xG conceded of 1.49 which is basically mid-table standard. For Spurs the figure is a little better at 1.37, but both sides are conceding more than that and they’ve both been very sloppy at the back. Mistakes never seem far away with these two! Overall, Spurs have played the better football and the 2.26 on Chelsea does feel a little short here. If I was getting involved in the match odds market, it would definitely be to lay Chelsea from a value point of view. However, this game screams goals.

Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.35 and Both Teams To Score is trading one tick bigger at 1.36 so the market is fully expecting goals here! I like Over 3.5 goals at 1.87 which looks cracking value. Spurs have to go for a win here, and I can’t see Chelsea sitting back either as they sit in mid-table; Chelsea have to win every game for a chance at a European spot – although whether or not they want a Europa Conference League spot is obviously debatable – however we should get a very end-to-end game here with plenty of chances at both ends of the pitch. With both sides so sloppy at the back, it’s hard not to expect goals.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Over 3.5 goals at 1.87 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
