THURSDAY FA CUP: The Striker previews the FA Cup third round clash between CRYSTAL PALACE v EVERTON with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CRYSTAL PALACE V EVERTON
8pm The FA Cup Third Round kicks off this week and we have a bumper few days of action on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We begin with an all Premier League clash on Thursday night as Crystal Palace host Everton, and we have fixtures all the way through to Monday Night Football involving Manchester United. It’s always interesting to see what Premier League sides decide to do in the FA Cup. You can understand the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool resting players given their schedule, but I always feel like sides at the level of Crystal Palace or Everton should fully commit to a Cup run.
Unfortunately money talks massively in football these days, especially in England and sides are more focused on finishing mid-table in the Premier League rather than a Cup run. We have a very open market here, and Crystal Palace are the marginal favourites. Crystal Palace are 2.7 with Everton 2.92 and the draw is 3.4 at the time of writing. The sides met here in mid-November and we had a very entertaining game – Everton won 3-2 here, and hopefully we have a similar game to kick off the Third Round!
These two sides are on the edge of the relegation battle, but they shouldn’t be heavily involved. Obviously Everton are playing very good football this season but they are only one point outside of the bottom three given their ten point deduction. In terms of quality football, they actually got a “good” season to get that deduction – it would have relegated them the last two seasons. Crystal Palace were also in danger of getting dragged into the relegation zone, but they recorded a massive win over Brentford at the weekend to give themselves a six point cushion.
As I said above, it will be fascinating to see what the managers do here in terms of team news. While Everton managed to beat Crystal Palace away from home, Everton are conceding more chances than they are creating away from home this season. However, Crystal Palace are also doing that at home. Their average xG created is only 1.18 which is quite poor. I’m keen to keep stakes low given the situation with team news and also the fact it’s hard to be confident on either side here. Everton have been dodgy away from home and Crystal Palace have been pretty average this season. I feel the draw is worth backing at 3.4, and I wouldn’t put anyone off Under 2.5 goals either.
The Striker Says:
One point win Draw at 3.4 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
