6pm All eyes might be on Manchester City v Liverpool later but I have to say, I find this fixture fascinating! Sheffield United have been dreadful since returning from lockdown and they would have been gutted to lose at home to Arsenal in the FA Cup at the weekend too. We had the VAR drama against Aston Villa of course, but they have yet to register an xG over 1 in their three Premier League games. They recorded an xG of 0.36, 0.71 and 0.12. Villa and Newcastle are poor sides, while 0.12 is still very bad even allowing for an Old Trafford visit.
What makes this interesting is Spurs have their own issues. I have to say though they look massive at 2.04 this evening. They performed well against United although losing on xG a 1-1 draw was pretty fair, while they hammered West Ham. The xG numbers might say that Mourinho hasn’t improved them and that they are having a woeful season – those things are true. However, this is an ideal time to back them. They should beat this out of form Sheffield United side who are creating nothing going forward. Spurs will outscore them.

- Tottenham manager José Mourinho has won 199 of his 324 Premier League games in charge. Victory here will see him become the fifth manager to register 200 wins in the competition, with only Alex Ferguson reaching the milestone in fewer games (322).
- Tottenham striker Harry Kane has scored 198 goals in 345 games in all competitions at club level in his career (five for Leyton Orient, nine for Millwall, two for Leicester and 182 for Tottenham). Kane has also scored 10 goals in just nine appearances in Yorkshire – however, Sheffield United are the only side Kane has faced in the Premier League without scoring against.
MANCHESTER CITY V LIVERPOOL
8.15pm In another world, these two would be closer together and this fixture would decide the title. What an occasion that would be! As it is, Liverpool have already claimed their first title for 30 years and now it’s just a case of playing for pride tonight. City will of course want to beat Liverpool here and send a message, but Liverpool will want to rubber stamp their title win. I can see this game becoming a little feisty if we have an early spark. One of the unfortunate things about games behind closed doors is it takes a while for the game to get going. We’ve seen too many 0-0’s at HT and then a very good second half. Hopefully we see an early goal or decision that lights this one up early.
I can’t have City as short as 2.12 here and they look an excellent lay to me. Liverpool absolutely bossed them at Anfield and City were thrashed by Chelsea recently – albeit with only ten men for the last 15 or so minutes. Liverpool are tough to beat, as we can see from the league table, but they’re also superb on the counter and if we get a fast paced game here that will play into their hands. A Liverpool back is tempting at 3.5, but I can’t get away from the City lay at 2.12.

- Liverpool are looking to complete a Premier League double over Manchester City for just the third time, also doing so in 2005-06 and 2015-16.
