CARABAO CUP: The Striker previews TOTTENHAM v MANCHESTER UNITED with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
TOTTENHAM V MANCHESTER UNITED
8pm We have the fourth and final Carabao Cup Quarter-Final on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Spurs host Manchester United on Thursday night. It feels like there’s always a huge amount of drama around these two clubs lately, and it will be fascinating to see how it plays out. Spurs have been playing the better football this season, but neither side have been getting results as they both sit in mid-table in the Premier League with only a point between them. United come into the game buzzing from a win in the Manchester Derby at the weekend, but let’s not get too carried away – they lost at home to Nottingham Forest prior to that.
We have an open betting heat which isn’t surprising given it’s been hard to trust either side this season. Spurs are the favourites at 2.44 with Manchester United 2.82 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing. Obviously United are going through a lot of changes at the moment; Ruben Amorim speaks very well and his decision to drop Rashford and Garnacho from the squad at the weekend shows the kind of backbone that United seemingly need given the standards have been so low at the club for years now. You have to say, similar thoughts can apply Ange Postecoglou at Spurs – he has fallen out with the fans a few times over their mentality around the title race last season and then publicly criticising players in the last week.
You could make the case that both clubs have been a ‘laughing stock’ for a while; they need some tough love and no nonsense from managers. Spurs have had a lot of trouble with injuries, and I felt we’d see a more open market here. The 2.44 feels a little short on Spurs – the problem is it’s very hard to have faith in United at the moment. The positive for United here however is they are marginally conceding less chances than Spurs this season – that’s a huge improvement considering the volume of chances they have were conceding last season.
Over 2.5 goals will certainly be a popular bet, and that’s trading 1.45 – fair to say the market is expecting an open and entertaining game. I don’t think that price offers much value; neither does Both Teams To Score. I know Spurs are creating more chances than United this season – they have the second best attacking figure in the Premier League – but I can see a very close game here, and from a value point of view I’m happy with a small Spurs lay at 2.44.
The Striker Says:
One point lay (liability) Tottenham to beat Manchester United at 2.44 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
