THE STRIKER: previews two Carabao Cup matches on Tuesday with a recommended bet. BOURNEMOUTH v CRYSTAL PALACE and BURTON ALBION v ASTON VILLA.

BOURNEMOUTH V CRYSTAL PALACE

7.45pm We have a busy week of Carabao Cup action with the second round kicking off and we have some very nice fixtures. We start with Bournemouth hosting Crystal Palace in what would have been an all Premier League clash only a couple of months ago. Bournemouth got off to a winning start in the Championship at the weekend, although they did concede two goals when beating Blackburn 3-2. Palace were more impressive when beating Southampton, although they were lucky not to concede with Southampton creating an xG of 1.27 – they could have scored another themselves on their way to a 1-0 win.

It’s always difficult to know what managers will do with the League Cup these days but for sides like this I always feel that they should play their best XI. Finishing mid-table in the Premier League is surely a bit boring each season for Palace, but of course for money reasons the Cup is a chance to rest players. All that considered, I like the Palace win here at 2.38 for a small investment – Bournemouth concede too many goals and that can win the game for Palace.

The Striker Says:
One point win Crystal Palace to beat Bournemouth at 2.38 with BETDAQ Exchange.

BURTON ALBION V ASTON VILLA

7.45pm Burton Albion get their chance to shine on Sky Sports on Tuesday night as they welcome Aston Villa. It’s fair to say that we might see some changes for Villa her given the views of Premier League sides towards the League Cup, but they would be bitterly disappointed not to get past an average Burton Albion side. Of course, being on Sky Sports against a Premier League club always means the smaller clubs plays a little better than usual, but Burton are a mid-table League One club and Villa should get the job done.

We might see a stronger than usual side for a Premier League team as this stage of the competition as Villa didn’t play at the weekend due to some fixtures changes. They should use this fixture as a build-up to starting their Premier League campaign at the weekend – they recently beat Manchester United in a friendly only last week. They can outclass this average Burton side and they are worth backing at 1.55.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Aston Villa to beat Burton Albion at 1.55 with BETDAQ Exchange.
