BURNLEY V BOURNEMOUTH
5.30pm The fixtures just keep stacking up for the UK clubs as the FA Cup Fifth Round kicks off on Tuesday. Unless you’ve already been knocked out of this competition, it’s been a while since you’ve had a whole week off! Most articles I’ve read are 50/50 on the subject; they either say it’s just like a normal season or that the fixture list is too busy – there’s no real in between! In my opinion, some clubs will really run out of steam towards the end of the season, and you could argue it’s effecting some clubs already – perhaps Liverpool are a classic example. Anyway, we start the Fifth Round with Burnley hosting Bournemouth. Burnley played very well at the weekend, and they will fancy their chances of getting through here.
Although Burnley could only draw 1-1 here against Brighton; they did create an xG of 2.11 in one of their best performances all season. It’s rare they create an xG of over 2, and if they play close to that level this evening they should get the job done. Bournemouth got a win under their belt at the weekend; but they have been poor in general in the Championship recently. Prior to that win, they had only managed one win in their eight games previously. They should hang onto a Playoff spot, but their chances of finishing near the top of the table appear to be gone. After landing some nice bets the weekend, including a rare max bet, this is a game for small stakes. I like Burnley to out class this Bournemouth side and the 2.38 is worth taking.
The Striker Says:
One point win Burnley to beat Bournemouth at 2.38 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange

MATCH STATS
- Burnley and Bournemouth have met four times in the FA Cup across three ties, with Burnley progressing from each (1960-61, 1965-66, 2004-05).
- This will be Bournemouth’s 18th away match against Burnley in all competitions, only winning one of the previous 17 (D6 L10), a 2-1 victory on the final day of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign thanks to a 93rd minute Callum Wilson goal.
- Burnley are looking to reach the FA Cup quarter-final for the first time since the 2002-03 campaign. They’ve been eliminated at the fifth round stage five times since then, most recently in 2016-17 by Lincoln City.
- Bournemouth have reached the FA Cup fifth round while themselves outside of the top-flight for the first time since 1988-89, when they were eliminated by Man Utd at this stage after a replay.
- Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez has scored 10 goals in his last 12 starts in the FA Cup, netting a brace in the Clarets’ 3-0 win at Fulham in the last round.
- Bournemouth’s Joshua King has been directly involved in five goals in only two FA Cup appearances this season (three goals and two assists), including a goal and an assist in the last round against Crawley. He has the most goals and assists of any player remaining in the competition proper this season.
MANCHESTER UNITED V WEST HAM
7.30pm A fascinating Cup clash and the highlight of the evening on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. The first question to ask here is what kind of teams we will see with the busy fixture list. I always feel sides like West Ham should really go for a Cup run; but most of the Premier League sides choose to rest players until the latter stages of the FA Cup these days and the Hammers have a superb chance of European football this season. They had a chance to go fourth at the weekend but could only draw with Fulham and slipped down to 6th as Chelsea went past them. United threw away a two goal lead here against Everton, and then threw away a 3-2 lead when conceding in the 95th minute. Same old United; too many mistakes at the back.
We landed a nice lay on United at the weekend and while I’m happy to keep stakes smaller in the FA Cup, I feel we can land a nice lay again tonight. West Ham have been excellent this season and one of my favourite teams to back – it was disappointing that they couldn’t beat Fulham at the weekend, but I feel United will choose to rest a number of players here and we’ll see a stronger West Ham. United look a couple of ticks too short at 1.62 and I’m happy to lay them from a value point of view.
The Striker Says:
One point lay (liability) Manchester United to beat West Ham at 1.62 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange
