BRENTFORD V MANCHESTER CITY

7.30pm After a week of Cup action on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, we’re back to a full midweek Premier League fixture list! We have some very interesting markets on Tuesday night with Manchester City and Liverpool back in action after big wins in the FA Cup at the weekend. We kick off the action with Brentford hosting Manchester City, and it will be very interesting to see how Pep Guardiola’s side get on here – they have finally put some wins together now after the worst run of Guardiola’s career. Is the crisis over? As you would expect, Manchester City come into the game as the odds on favourites – they are trading 1.71 with Brentford 4.9 and the draw is 4.6 at the time of writing. City have obviously been through a lot over the last few months – injuries really knocked the balance of their side and they completely lost their confidence. They still have the best attacking figure in the Premier League with an average xG created of 1.91 though, and their defensive figure is the second best at 1.11. Three wins, two Premier League and one FA Cup, will see them get some confidence back.

Obviously it is a shrewd position to say that the jury is still out on City, but the signs are promising and the 1.71 will be a popular bet here. It’s not quite going to be a Five Star NAP yet, but that price is big enough to get involved in my opinion. Brentford have been exceptionally poor at the back this season, and you just know that City are going to get a lot of chances here. Brentford have an average xG conceded of 1.81 which is exceptionally high – only Southampton and Leicester have conceded more chances and they are both odds on for relegation this season. What has Brentford in mid-table is they are over-performing up front. Their average xG created is 1.33 but their actual goals scored average is 1.9 – when they stop scoring from awkward angles they will be in trouble. The 1.71 is hard to get away from on City, but Over 2.5 goals has to be an option too, but that is trading quite low at 1.43 – the market is expecting goals. In my opinion, Brentford are there for the taking and I’m happy to be on City here at 1.71.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST V LIVERPOOL

8pm We finish Tuesday night with a fantastic fixture as Nottingham Forest host Liverpool. Forest have been having their time of their lives recently; it wasn’t so long ago they were in a relegation battle with a massive wage bill – if they went back down to the Championship they would have been in a terrible position. They survived, and now they come into this matchday sitting in third place – it’s actually hard to believe. They are just six points behind Liverpool in the title race – you could even call this a game that will have a big impact on the title race! Forest fans must be living in dream land. They are over-performing; I don’t think anyone had Forest on their list for a Top Four spot this season – but you can’t knock the confidence and momentum when something like this happens. It’s easy to look at their under-lining numbers and question them, but the reality is they keep grinding out results. They have been really getting away with things at the back though; their average xG conceded is 1.47 but they are actually conceding less than one goal per game. That defensive figure is bottom half of the xG table, it’ll be interesting to see what European spot they can hang on to.

Liverpool have been absolutely superb this season, and this will be a huge test for Forest, who have clearly been conceding chances this season. Liverpool come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.76 with Nottingham Forest 5.1 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing. This situation reminds me of Real Madrid v Girona in La Liga last season – Girona were hanging around the “title battle” points wise, but they were over-performing and Real Madrid absolutely put them to the sword. Forest have clearly been fantastic this season, but Liverpool have been playing at a completely different level and it’s hard to get away from the 1.76 here. Forest have put an excellent run together, but prior to that they were exposed against Manchester City and Arsenal – and let’s face it, a lot of clubs have managed to beat Manchester United and Spurs this season! Liverpool have been exceptional under Arne Slot, and they are a confident bet at 1.76 to outclass Forest.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Liverpool to beat Nottingham Forest at 1.76 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
