WEDNESDAY CARABAO CUP: The Striker previews Wednesday’s semi-final second leg between FULHAM v LIVERPOOL with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
FULHAM V LIVERPOOL
8pm The second Carabao Cup Semi-Final arrives on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Fulham host Liverpool on Wednesday night. Liverpool take a 2-1 lead into the second leg, and while it’s obviously nice to have that advantage you could say they would have been expected to take a bigger advantage into this leg. Even though Liverpool were without their star man Mo Salah at the weekend, they hammered Bournemouth 4-0 to move five points clear at the top of the table.
You get the feeling that Klopp just wants to get through this period when he’s missing players due to the AFCON and if Liverpool still have a lead then they are in a fantastic position. City do have a game in hand though and if they win that the gap will be down to two points which isn’t a lot with Kevin De Bruyne back. Fulham had the weekend off thanks to the Winter Break, they lost away to Chelsea the weekend prior but they sit happily in mid-table. This is their biggest game of the season by far.
With Liverpool taking a 2-1 lead into the game from the first leg, Fulham will have to chase the game here. That should play into Liverpool’s hands though who aren’t going to sit back, and we could see a very entertaining game here. Liverpool come into it as the odds on favourites – they are trading 1.78 with Fulham 4.6 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing. On paper, there’s a gulf in class between the sides but Liverpool haven’t really put Fulham to the sword recently.
We had a dramatic 4-3 win for Liverpool in the Premier League when they scored in the 87th and 88th minute to come back from 3-2 down. The last time there was a two goal margin between the sides was back in 2019 and since then there’s only been a goal between the sides. The 1.78 on Liverpool is a little appealing, but Over 2.5 goals at 1.63 stands out as the best bet here. As I said above, Fulham have to chase the game here and Liverpool don’t really know how to sit back!
Liverpool’s average xG created is 2.1 in the Premier League this season and that’s the best attacking figure in the league. Fulham have been playing an open game this season, and although they are conceding more than they are creating you wouldn’t be surprised to see them score at some stage here. I do feel this game screams goals, and we tend to see goals with Liverpool involved anyway. The Overs at 1.63 looks a very nice position.
The Striker Says:
Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.63 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
