CARABAO CUP QUARTER FINALS WEDNESDAY: The Striker previews MANCHESTER CITY v BRENTFORD with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
MANCHESTER CITY V BRENTFORD
7.30pm The Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals continue on Betdaq Betting Exchange on Wednesday night! We have two all Premier League clashes as Newcastle host Fulham but I’m happy to focus Manchester City hosting Brentford given Pep Guardiola’s side are really hitting form at the moment! Heading into the Quarter-Finals we still have Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal all still involved so we should have a good finish to the tournament – we have a short break after tonight with the final Quarter-Final taking place on the 23rd as Arsenal host Crystal Palace.
City had an impressive 3-0 win away to Crystal Palace at the weekend, and that made it four wins in a row in the Premier League. They’ve scored 14 goals in those four games and closed the gap on Arsenal to just two points. They could even be level because Arsenal needed a very late goal to beat Wolves at the weekend! It’s fair to say that most football fans will be expecting a comfortable win for City here, and it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites. City are trading 1.38 with Brentford 8.8 and the draw is 5.5 at the time of writing.
It’s hard to see past a City win here. Brentford have been poor away from home this season. After the first few games of the season, they were a very popular choice for relegation but since they beat Manchester United they have gone away from the relegation battle with some very strong home form. They are unbeaten in their last four home games, and from their home games this season, they’ve only lost once from eight which was against Manchester City! No shame in that, but it is a reflection of how difficult a task they have here. City had 70% possession when Brentford had home advantage.
Brentford’s away form has to be a major worry too – it’s like they have been two different sides this season. They have lost their last four away games – they’ve actually lost seven of their eight away Premier League games. The win came against West Ham when they were really struggling in October. With City on fire, it’s hard to see past a comfortable win here and I feel City can cover the handicap on the way to winning two. They are trading 2.06 to cover a 1.5 goal handicap which looks cracking value. Brentford have conceded two goals or more in their last four away Premier League games – I am keen to keep stakes small here though given Guardiola could opt to rest players given the schedule.
The Striker Says:
One point win Manchester City -1.5 goals to beat Brentford at 2.06 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
