MANCHESTER CITY V NEWCASTLE

8pm We finish the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals on Wednesday night on Betdaq Betting Exchange! Manchester City host Newcastle with one foot already in the final given they won the first leg 2-0 at St James’ Park. Newcastle have it all to do here, and obviously two goals down they’ll have to start chasing the game very early. That should open things up and we should have an entertaining game. As you would expect with home advantage, Manchester City come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.84 with Newcastle 4.4 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing.

City dropped points again at the weekend which was a massive blow to their title hopes. Every time they seem to be creeping up on Arsenal, they drop points. You could have said that Arsenal came into the weekend under pressure after the Manchester United loss, but a comfortable win over Leeds and then watching Manchester City throw away a 2-0 lead against Spurs at the weekend basically puts Arsenal in an exceptionally strong position again. As I said at the weekend, Spurs are definitely a bogey side for City! They almost always get out-played but somehow get a result – even allowing for the fact they have been so poor this season!

With a two goal lead and City struggling to get over the line in so many games this season, I wouldn’t be rushing to back them at odds on here. I do feel Newcastle will attack them and that might actually suit City, but an early Newcastle goal will make things very interesting. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here – I know Newcastle have basically been sitting in mid-table for most of the season, but they have been playing better football than their results suggest. The major issue for Newcastle this season has been in front of goal and not taking their chances.

City have the fourth best attacking figure in the Premier League this season and Newcastle are in sixth, so there isn’t that much between the sides. Newcastle have really missed Isak this season – even if their fans don’t want to hear that! I do feel given the situation that this is a game for small stakes, and I also feel it screams goals. I’m happy to stay away from the match odds, and go with Over 2.5 goals at 1.64 which looks very nice value in what should be an entertaining game.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.64 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
