CARABAO CUP WEDNESDAY: The Striker previews PORT VALE v ARSENAL including a recommended BETDAQ bet.
PORT VALE V ARSENAL
8pm The Third Round of the Carabao Cup continues on Betdaq Betting Exchange! with Port Vale v Arsenal the big TV game on Wednesday night! This is very much a David v Goliath game with Port Vale struggling in League One while Arsenal are in the title race in the Premier League. It’s no surprise to see Arsenal come into the game as the red-hot favourites; indeed we have four red-hot favourites from the four fixtures on Wednesday. Manchester City, Newcastle, Spurs and Arsenal are all trading sub 1.25 to win, and I’m sure they will be a popular Acca!
Arsenal will be fully expected to win here, even if Arteta decides to rest some players. Arsenal are trading 1.13 with Port Vale 32.0 and the draw is 11.0 at the time of writing. That’s one of the shortest prices we have seen this season; and to be honest it’s exceptionally difficult to see past an Arsenal win here. This game is mostly going to be about how many goals will Arsenal score rather than will they actually win. We’re going to have to look around the side markets for some value here.
Arsenal had a dramatic draw the weekend at home against Manchester City. They actually went into that game as the big favourites – they were odds on in my preview – however the way the game worked out, a point was a good result given the goal came so late. It just means they have lost further ground on Liverpool in the title race, but it’s a long season ahead and we should still have plenty of drama to come. Port Vale are currently sitting down in 19th in League One which really highlights the gulf in class between the sides. Eight points from nine games puts them in the relegation battle.
Despite the poor results on paper for Port Vale, they are actually playing a lot better than it looks. They have the third best attacking figure in League One, but they are clearly struggling to convert their chances. They should actually shoot up the table when they start taking their chances, but we still have a massive gulf in class here. Arsenal are so strong at the back, I’m happy to keep stakes limited here but Both Teams To Score looks worth a small investment at 2.56. I feel that offers a little value based on how Port Vale are performing rather than their results – Arsenal should dominate this game but Port Vale can get on the score sheet at some stage.
The Striker Says:
One point win Both Teams To Score at 2.56 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
