BURNLEY V WOLVES
6pm We have plenty of Premier League action on Wednesday night and we start with Burnley hosting Wolves. This is a big game for Wolves, they find themselves in sixth after getting back to winning ways against Everton last time out but they need to keep winning in the hurt for a Europa League spot. Sheffield United are breathing down their necks only one point behind and Spurs are only three points behind them now after beating Arsenal. Burnley are on a good run and managed to get a draw Anfield last time out but as we all know, Liverpool have been celebrating their title win and haven’t been playing well since.
This should be a very tight affair. Burnley have seen under 2.5 goals win in their last five, while Wolves have seen unders win in five of their last six – their most recent game against Everton being the exception. It’s hard to see anything but a close game here and Wolves don’t make any appeal to me at 1.93. I expect a closer game than those odds reflect but I can’t get away from under 2.5 goals here at 1.58. That’s definitely worth a small investment to start the evening.
The Striker Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 1.58 with BETDAQ Exchange.

MATCH STATS
- Burnley won this exact fixture 2-0 last season, ending a run of nine top-flight home games without a win against Wolves (D4 L5). They last won consecutive top-flight home games against them in November 1963.
- Wolves have won just one of their last seven league games against Burnley (D3 L3), beating them 1-0 at Molineux in the Premier League last season.
- Burnley have lost just one of their last 13 Premier League games (W7 D5), while they’re unbeaten in their last six at Turf Moor (W3 D3).
- Wolves have lost just four away Premier League games this season (P17 W7 D6 L4), only champions Liverpool (2) have lost fewer matches on the road this campaign.
- Burnley have won each of their last three midweek Premier League fixtures (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), having won just one of their previous 11 such games in the competition (D3 L7).
- Wolves have kept eight clean sheets in their last 11 Premier League games, having kept just four shutouts in their opening 24 matches of this campaign.
- Three of Burnley’s last four Premier League goals have come from free-kick situations – as many as in their previous 44 goals in the competition.
- Jay Rodriguez has been involved in 80% of Burnley’s Premier League goals since the restart (4/5), with the striker scoring (3) or assisting (1) a goal in each of his last four appearances.
- Wolves’ Raul Jiménez has scored eight match-winning goals in the Premier League this season, more than any other player. Indeed, Jiménez (16) is looking to become the first Wolves player to score 17 goals in a top-flight season since John Richards in 1975-76 (17).
- Nick Pope has kept 14 clean sheets for Burnley this season – the last English goalkeeper to keep more shutouts in a single Premier League campaign was Joe Hart in 2015-16 (15).
MANCHESTER CITY V BOURNEMOUTH
6pm It’s fair to say that Bournemouth’s second half performance against Leicester was a complete shock. Bournemouth have been playing poorly since returning from lockdown, they are rightly in the bottom three and with Leicester 1-0 up at HT it looked like they were going down. They netted four times in the second half and now they sit three points behind West Ham and Watford. They still need results to go their way, especially with nothing expected in this game, but they have given themselves a fighting chance of staying up.
It’s been a good week for City with them getting their ban in Europe overturned on Monday and scoring ten goals in two games without conceding. Bournemouth will be fighting for their lives here, but it’s hard to see how they can cope with this City side. These games behind closed doors really suit sides like City who can just pass the ball and get into a training ground rhythm almost. I like goals here, with the chance that Bournemouth can score too. Over 3.5 goals is worth backing at 1.85 – we seen a crazy game between Untied and Bournemouth in Manchester recently and we might see similar here.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Over 3.5 goals at 1.85 with BETDAQ Exchange.

MATCH STATS
- Man City have won all nine of their Premier League games against Bournemouth by an aggregate score of 28-4. It’s the best 100% record one opponent has against another in English top-flight history.
- Bournemouth have lost all nine of their Premier League meetings with Man City – in English top-flight history, only one side has lost each of their first 10 games against an opponent (Wigan against Manchester United).
- Bournemouth have conceded 28 goals against Manchester City in their nine Premier League meetings – only Nottingham Forest versus Blackburn (29 conceded) have shipped more in their first nine Premier League games against a specific opponent.
- Manchester City have won their previous two Premier League matches by a 5-0 scoreline – on only three occasions in English top-flight history has a side won three consecutive games by a 5+ goal margin, most recently the Citizens back in September 2017 (also Chelsea in August 2010 and Aston Villa in April 1899).
- Manchester City have won their last five home Premier League games without conceding a goal – they last won six such home matches in a row in the top-flight in March 1902.
- Bournemouth have won just one of their last 14 away Premier League games (D1 L12), losing the last eight in a row. The Cherries haven’t lost nine in a row on the road in the Premier League since February 2019.
- Bournemouth have picked up just two victories in their 12 Premier League games on a Wednesday (W2 D2 L8), losing each of their last four such matches in a row and shipping 14 goals in those defeats.
- Bournemouth’s 4-1 victory against Leicester City last time out ended a nine-match winless run – they haven’t won consecutive Premier League games since February. However, they also became the first side in Premier League history to concede 60+ goals in five consecutive campaigns.
- Man City manager Pep Guardiola has won his first seven Premier League matches against Bournemouth; only versus Malaga and West Ham (8 each) has he won his first eight league meetings against a single opponent in his managerial career.
- Man City’s Raheem Sterling has scored in all but one of his eight Premier League appearances against Bournemouth, with the England star netting more league goals against the Cherries than he has any other side (9).
NEWCASTLE V TOTTENHAM
6pm Spurs have been very unpredictable this season to say the least, while Newcastle have been the worse side in the Premier League on xG. It should make for an interesting match! Newcastle have been battered in their last two games but the scorelines have been very different. They conceded five against Manchester City while giving up an xG of 3.15 but only conceded two against Watford while giving up an xG of 3.42. They keep giving away big chances and it’s about time it has shown in their results.
Spurs were well on top against Arsenal at the weekend and deserved to win. Their 0-0 draw against Bournemouth is a big worry when backing them at 1.83 but Newcastle have been so bad I can’t get away from Spurs here. Stakes are reduced because of how unreliable Spurs have been this season, especially away from home, but they should still be able to deal with this Newcastle side nonetheless.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Tottenham to beat Newcastle at 1.83 with BETDAQ Exchange.

MATCH STATS
- Newcastle are looking to record their first Premier League double over Spurs since 2015-16, following their 1-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in August.
- Tottenham have won four of their last five Premier League away games against Newcastle (L1), more than they had in their first 19 visits to St James’ Park in the competition (W3 D5 L11).
- Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to record three consecutive away wins in all competitions against Newcastle for the first time since January 1975.
- Newcastle have lost just three of their 17 home games in the Premier League this season (W6 D8) – the last time they lost three or fewer home games in a Premier League campaign was in 2011-12 (three).
- No Premier League team has won more games after conceding the first goal this season than Tottenham Hotspur (4), with their 2-1 win against Arsenal last time out the fourth such occasion this term.
- Tottenham Hotspur have lost their last three away Premier League games on Wednesday, one more than they’d lost in their previous 13 such matches (W9 D2 L2).
- In his Premier League career, Tottenham boss José Mourinho has managed more games without winning at St James’ Park than he has at any other stadium (7 – D3 L4). Indeed, he’s lost more games there than at any other away venue in the competition.
- Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min has been directly involved in more goals in all competitions under José Mourinho than any other player at the club in this period (9 goals, 8 assists).
- Miguel Almirón has been directly involved in two goals in his last three Premier League home games (one goal and one assist), as many as in his first 19 league games at St. James’ Park combined.
- Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle has scored three goals and assisted another in five Premier League appearances since the restart in June, after failing to score any in 12 top-flight games earlier this season (one assist).
ARSENAL V LIVERPOOL
8.15pm We finally landed a bet in a Liverpool game last time out, our first since they officially won the title! Once again they put in a lacklustre effort against Burnley and in fairness they were probably unlucky not to win but they just didn’t play like they have been doing all season. This fixture is tricky because Arsenal are hardly a side that you can trust; although they have been in good form lately. Perhaps it’s wise not to read into that run though as they failed to beat the two decent sides they came up against, Leicester and Spurs, although they did manage to beat Wolves.
I think this fixture screams goals. Arsenal always make mistakes at the back, while it’s clear that Liverpool have switched off since confirming the title. That means we’re highly likely to see an open affair here with plenty of chances at either end. Liverpool have the class to cut through this Arsenal side at will, but Arsenal can find a way through this Liverpool defence who haven’t been at their best recently. Over 2.5 goals is my most confident bet of the day at 1.67.
