MANCHESTER CITY V BRIGHTON

7.30pm The Premier League action continues on Wednesday with another massive night on Betdaq Betting Exchange! There’s no doubt the headlines will be dominated by Manchester United sacking Ruben Amorim as they face Burnley, but we kick off the evening with another Manchester club under pressure as Manchester City host Brighton. City got a dagger through the heart at the weekend with a very late Chelsea equaliser; after doing a lot of hard work they now find themselves six points behind Arsenal again. That came off the back of a 0-0 draw away to Sunderland, obviously a massive blow in a game that they should win easily on paper and then they controlled the game against Chelsea. They never put them away though, and as we know it football – it only takes seconds to change a game. City have to dust themselves off now and go again; catching this Arsenal side was always going to be a massive task and it just got more difficult. You have to feel this is a must win game off the back of this run; the only thing that’s going to stop Arsenal winning the title this season is what pressure City can put them under on the run in.

This is another game that City should be winning on paper, Brighton have quite average this season as they sit in mid-table. They finally broke a run of six Premier League games with a 2-0 win over Burnley at the weekend, but we can’t read too much into that given Burnley are nailed on to go back down to the Championship this season. As you would expect, Manchester City come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.42 with Brighton 8.2 and the draw is 5.6 at the time of writing. Brighton have been entertaining to watch this season – with the volume of chances they are creating they should be higher in the table but the problem has been at the back; they are conceding plenty of chances. That record is never good to bring to City away from home, and while I couldn’t put anyone off City at 1.42 I do feel we’ll see an entertaining game here. Over 2.5 goals is trading five ticks bigger than the City win at 1.47, and I feel that offers more value. I’d be surprised if we didn’t see goals here.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.47 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

BURNLEY V MANCHESTER UNITED

8.15pm We finish Wednesday night with undoubtedly the talking point of the week! Burnley host Manchester United, who begin life after Ruben Amorim when the news broke on Monday he was sacked. Apparently they made the decision before the Leeds game – we saw a very difficult Amorim in the press conference either side of that fixture, and obviously things had blown up behind the scenes. United are now left in a very similar situation; it’s almost like déjà vu as we’ve been here time and time again. I know United finished down the table last season, but obviously they focused on the Europa League towards the latter part of the season. They had an average xG created of 1.77 in the Premier League this season, which is currently the best attacking figure coming into this midweek matchday. There was a lot to be positive about, but it seems clear there was a massive blow-up behind the scenes. Amorim clearly felt he wasn’t being supported, and whatever your opinion on the manager it feels like the same thing is happening again – you have a manager that wants to do thing his own way and have more control, the board get uncomfortable and don’t allow that.

Basically it’s the same thing again, and we’ll all likely be back here again in 2027. We’ll have an interim manager likely until the end of the season, a new manager then for next season and the relationship when break down in season two or three. The definition of madness quote springs to mind. It will be interesting to see what type of performance we get from the squad here; United have thrown many managers under the bus but that’s not what happened here. Burnley have been woeful this season – they have the worst attacking figure and the worst defensive figure in the Premier League. Manchester United come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.76 with Burnley 5.1 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing. Given the situation, this is definitely a game for small stakes but the 1.76 on United is hard to ignore. They have been playing very well this season and Burnley are there for the taking with their poor performance levels.

The Striker Says:
One point win Manchester United to beat Burnley at 1.76 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
