WOLVES V ARSENAL

8pm All the focus might be on the Champions League, but we also midweek Premier League fixture to enjoy on Betdaq Betting Exchange as Wolves host Arsenal. It’s fair to say everyone will be expecting an easy win for Arsenal here given the season that Wolves are having. They sit rock bottom of the table on just nine points from 26 games; they have just one win all season. No one is talking about them actually surviving, it more that they could be on course to break Derby County’s record for the fewest points in a Premier League season! It’s no surprise then that Arsenal into the game as the red-hot favourites. Arsenal are trading as short as 1.31 with Wolves 13.0 and the draw is 6.0 at the time of writing.

It’s very difficult to see past an Arsenal win here. I feel this one is going to be about how many goals can Arsenal score rather than will they actually win. Not only have Wolves been exceptionally poor this season, they also have a woeful record against Arsenal. Wolves have lost their last eight meetings against Arsenal and have only scored twice in those games. Obviously there’s no prizes for tipping 1.31 shots, so we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value. Even with the gulf in class, this is a crucial game for Arsenal in the title race after dropping two points last week with that 1-1 draw at Brentford. Manchester City won at the weekend too, and the gap is now just four points. Arsenal cannot afford any more slip ups – especially against Wolves!

Arsenal have obviously been exceptional this season. They have the best defensive figure in the Premier League with an average xG conceded of just 0.89. An outstanding number to be honest – that 0.89 figure is the best in Europe and it tells you everything about how solid Arsenal have been at the back under Arteta. Not even Bayern Munich have a figure that good in the Bundesliga, and they dominate that league. Arsenal also have an impressive attacking figure with an average xG created of 1.72. Compare that to Wolves – their average xG created is just 1.10 which is the second worst attacking figure in the Premier League; only Burnley at 1.06 have been worse. At the back, Wolves have an average xG conceded of 1.64 which is also in the bottom four defensive figures. The writing is well and truly on the wall for Wolves.

As I said above, this is about how many Arsenal score. There really aren’t many positives with Wolves to be honest. Over 2.5 goals is trading odds on at 1.75, but the market is expecting Arsenal to do most of the work there because Both Teams Not To Score is also odds on at one tick lower. I actually prefer the Both Teams Not To Score option, which is effectively an Arsenal clean sheet. Wolves have offered so little going forward this season and obviously they meet the best defensive side in Europe. Wolves are averaging just 0.62 goals scored per game this season – Arsenal can keep a clean sheet on the way to winning here.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.74 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
