ITALY V WALES

5pm It’s crunch time in the Euro 2020 Groups as the final Matchdays begin on Sunday! We just have the two games today from Group A and we should have a fantastic afternoon with all matches 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We start with Italy and Wales, the two sides in pole position after the opening two games. Italy have been superb thus far with two wins from two games, both 3-0. While Wales recorded a huge draw with Switzerland and then beat Turkey, so it’s highly likely even with a loss here they will get through in the third placed rankings, whatever happens with Switzerland v Turkey later although Wales have a good goal difference too. Second plays the Runner Up in Group B, while the winner plays the Runner Up in Group C, in my opinion that’s a good draw for both sides. This should be a good game though, and Wales can enjoy themselves with nothing to lose.

Italy have been one of the more impressive teams at the tournament. Turkey look very limited, but Italy actually played better against Switzerland who you would have thought would give them a better game. They created an xG of 2.5 and only conceded 0.25 – it was a complete shutdown! Perhaps we saw how bad Turkey are in the Wales games – Wales created an xG of 3.83! That was a massive turnaround since their lucky draw with Switzerland, but it’s also a sign when Turkey chase the game they open up at the back. Both sides could easily gel together for a very entertaining game here. Italy should win and they are a tempting bet at 1.53 but over 2.5 goals looks superb value at 2.2 here. It’s not quite a Max Bet because Wales do like to play a tight game at the back, but it’s a confident one. I’d have it odds on. Both sides have been excellent going forward.

SWITZERLAND V TURKEY

5pm While mot football fans will be watching Italy v Wales this afternoon, from a betting point of view I see more value in this game. Switzerland are a Max Bet for me at 1.75. We have been going very well in the tournament with the Max Bets, and we have already landed one against Turkey – we can land another here. Turkey looked a very average side coming into the tournament and they have been completely outplayed in their two games. They have offered very little going forward, and when they have tried to break out of their defensive mindset they have left huge gaps at the back. They held their own for a while against Italy, but as soon as Italy scored the floodgates open. We more or less saw the same type of thing against Wales – they gave away an xG of 3.83! Wales don’t create xG figures like that often.

Switzerland were absolutely hammered by Italy, but they put in a very good performances against Wales and were unlucky not to win. They created an xG of 2.6 and more or less had the game won – the late Wales goal came totally against the run of play and from nowhere too. They were made look poor against Italy, but to be fair Italy have been playing very well – they will go far in the tournament. This is a must win game for Switzerland too given the situation in the Group, especially for the third place rankings too – they will need four points. Turkey might try to defend, but they have to go for a win too as you will get some teams through with only one win in the third place rankings. With Turkey having to play a more open game, they will be very poor at the back again and this can only benefit Switzerland. The 1.75 is too big to ignore, and has to be a Max Bet at the odds.
