HUNGARY V PORTUGAL
5pm We only have two games at Euro 2020 today, but we focus on the most interesting Group! Hungary, Portugal, France and Germany is still getting called the “Group of Death” but with the third place rankings there’s less pressure than before. There is, however, huge pressure on Portugal to win this game. I know they will want to finish in the top two, but a win here and a draw against either France or Germany would see them through in the third place rankings – and also, who knows what can happen in the other games. They must win here though. It is dramatic to suggest if they don’t win their tournament is over? It’s a long road back if they don’t! I’m sure there will be a lot of strong opinions on the Portugal price at 1.48. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Portugal produce in this tournament. They have some excellent players, but with their key man Ronaldo ageing this is the first tournament he comes into with question marks. What will he produce?
You might say Portugal haven’t been at their best recently. They finished second in qualifying behind Ukraine and then second in the Nations League. But if you look at the underlining numbers, you will see they should have topped their qualifying Group. The xG figures make for poor reading too for Hungary. They are unlucky to be in this Group, but they actually have one of the worst attacking figures in the tournament. I can see this being a smooth win for Portugal and the 1.48 is a tempting bet with all Euro 2020 matches 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, however looking at the Hungary attacking figures I’m happy to back Both Teams Not To Score at 1.72. Portugal should be able to keep a clean sheet here and I’d have BTTS No much shorter.

FRANCE V GERMANY
8pm We have had some excellent matches in the opening days of Euro 2020, but make no mistake this is the first blockbuster fixture. Two European giants clash here and it will be fascinating to see who comes out on top. France come into the tournament as one of the favourites, and they are my pick to win the tournament. If they can manage to top this Group then they have a relatively easy path to the Semi-Finals. They have an excellent chance to get off to a winning start here too in my opinion. Germany just haven’t been themselves in recent seasons – they aren’t consistent and have had some very poor performances. They topped their qualifying Group, but their xG figures weren’t impressive. Their Group was pretty weak too outside of the Netherlands.
France are clearly one of the talking teams going into the tournament, but they are World Cup Champions after all. Their squad is so impressive, and they look much better than Germany on paper. It’s not a surprise to see an open market because we have two top teams, but I would have France clear favourites and much shorter than their current 2.76. They were superb in the Nations League recently and sailed through qualifying. Germany will always be a well drilled and organised side, but I just can’t see them dealing with this France side full of firepower. It was nice to land some early bets, but the 2.76 deserves a Max Bet on France. I would have them around 2.5 and it will be very interesting to see what the market does before kick off – I can see a big pre-match move on France.
