EURO 2024: The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between SWITZERLAND v GERMANY and SCOTLAND v HUNGARY both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
SWITZERLAND V GERMANY
8pm It’s crunch time at the Euro 2024 as we begin the final round of group fixtures on Sunday. It’s going to be quite the dramatic change on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE; we’re going from wall-to-wall football with three fixtures all day to having to wait until 8pm, and then two games kick off at the same time. This is the beginning of a slower pace fixture wise, but we do have some massively important games to enjoy. We start with Group A and Switzerland v Germany – the pressure is on Switzerland here after their draw with Scotland but it would be a massive shock if they didn’t go through from here looking at the whole situation. Germany are already through; as expected from this Group really – I still feel that there will be a good time to take on this German side in the latter stages of the tournament but they were always likely to sail through the Group stage. A draw would be enough for Switzerland here to see them through, so I would expect them to go into this game in cagey fashion. It will be interesting to see how much Germany can create with a view to later in the tournament – this is clearly the biggest test for Germany so far in Euro 2024.
Germany come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.76 with Switzerland 5.5 and the draw is 3.9 at the time of writing. It’s worth noting that even if Switzerland lose here, there’s a very high probability that they go through anyway because of the four best third places – and that’s not even mentioning the fact that they have such a massive goal difference between themselves and Scotland. Switzerland were impressive against Hungary, but they didn’t create enough against Scotland to say that they should have won the game. Germany blew Scotland away, and then controlled the Hungary game – they gave away a few more chances compared to the Scotland game but they were never in real danger. Anything bar a hammering will suit Switzerland here, and you’d have to expect them to be a little cagey – I definitely can’t see them wanting an open game anyway. The 1.76 on Germany doesn’t jump off the page as massive value here, and I’m happy with a small bet on Under 2.5 goals at 2.12. I’d have this a little closer to evens given the situation – this definitely screams a game for small stakes in my opinion however.
The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.12 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

SCOTLAND V HUNGARY
8pm We finish Sunday night with Scotland v Hungary with both sides having their backs to the wall heading into the final Group game. Scotland gave themselves a real fighting chance with a draw against Switzerland – their goal difference will stop them from finishing second unless we see some incredible scenes tonight, but given there are places available for the top third placed sides; everything is to play for. A win here would give Scotland four points which would give them an excellent chance of getting one of those third-placed spots in the Last 16. Again, their goal difference is going to be a massive issue but four points will be a very solid place to be. For Hungary, they will just be thinking win the game and see what happens in regards to the third-placed spots with three points – it’s unlikely but they do still have a chance. We have a very open betting heat; this is actually the most open betting heat of Euro 2024 so far – Hungary come into the game as favourites at 2.54 with Scotland 2.7 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing. A draw will send both sides home, so although we could easily end up having a draw – it won’t be a dull affair with both sides throwing everything forward towards the end of the game.
The Scotland fans have been immense so far at Euro 2024, and the atmosphere is going to be fantastic. It’s hard not to see an open game here given the situation, and Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.81 which is a very appealing price in my opinion. I have to say I expected it to be bigger before clicking into the market. We have two sides here that might be a little limited going forward, but they have also leaked chances at the back and we’re going to see mistakes. Both sides have been comfortably beaten with Germany hammering Scotland and Switzerland doing a number on Hungary in the opening games. Both sides actually played much better second time out, but obviously Hungary came up short against Germany – they created enough to suggest they should have scored at some point however. I don’t blame the market being so open and I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here to be honest – I really feel we’ll see an open game with both sides needing to go for it, and I would have Overs at least ten ticks shorter. I feel we’re getting so much value at 1.8 that it’s worth a Five Star NAP!
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.8 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
