TURKEY V GEORGIA

5pm We finish the first round of fixtures from Euro 2024 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE with Group F on Tuesday. By now everyone will be wondering where is the 2pm fixture because it’s so easy to get used to wall-to-wall football all day! We kick off the day with Turkey v Georgia – a little less glamorous than some of the fixtures we’ve had over the last few days, but it’s an interesting market nevertheless. Turkey come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.81 with Georgia 5.5 and the draw is 3.75 at the time of writing. Turkey topped a qualifying Group that involved Croatia and Wales, and although that was a very strong performance you can definitely pick holes in the form. Wales have been poor for a while, pretty much since Bale retired and failed to get through the playoffs losing on penalties to Poland while Croatia got hammered by Spain on Saturday and you could say their midfield is finally ageing. That being said, I don’t think this is the time to take on Turkey. Georgia did exceptionally well to come through the playoffs but they only had to beat Luxembourg and Greece. They both play at a C Group level in the Nations League, however so do Turkey – Turkey and Greece both topped their Groups in the Nations League, and Georgia needed penalties to beat Greece.

This is the first time that Georgia have made it to a European Championship – that is to be celebrated and no doubt their fans will have an excellent time. However, they are short on quality – they actually recorded the lowest possession percentage of any team in qualifying that made it through to the tournament. In fairness, they finished fourth in their Group but got into the playoffs based on the Nations League. They will definitely go into this game in a very cagey fashion, a defensive approach has definitely been their strategy and they aren’t going to change that. I would expect Turkey to outclass them and while I couldn’t put anyone off a Turkey win at 1.81, I do like some other bets. Under 2.5 goals is trading 1.75 which makes a lot of appeal, as does Both Teams Not To Score at 1.8. Turkey had an absolute disaster at Euro 2020, going in well fancied but only managed to score once losing all three fixtures. They have made improvement since then but I feel they are going to have to work very hard to beat a well organised Georgia side, despite them being short on quality. Under 2.5 goals looks a nice position here at 1.75.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.75 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

PORTUGAL V CZECH REPUBLIC

8pm Next we have Portugal taking on the Czech Republic. Portugal have come into this tournament as a very popular bet – you could say that they have a relatively handy draw until the Semi-Finals, and then they also have the added bonus of avoiding the side of the draw that will likely have France and England in it all things going well. Portugal have had a lot of momentum in the Outright market, and it will be interesting to see what type of performance we get here. Their squad is exceptionally talented, it’s no surprise this has been picked up on by a lot of football punters ahead of the tournament! They sailed through qualifying with ten wins from their ten games, and Ronaldo has been in superb goal scoring touch in the friendlies leading into this tournament. Expectations are high now, and they should start with a win against an average Czech Republic side. Czech Republic came through a qualifying Group that involved Albania, Poland, Moldova and Faroe Islands. Everyone expected Poland to top that Group but they could only managed third – Albania were one of the highest over-performing sides in qualifying and Czech Republic finished in between them to reach Euro 2024.

It’s highly likely that Czech Republic will put XI men behind the ball here, their focus seems to be on being very solid at the back and then they put a lot of effort into set pieces. That seems to be their best chance of scoring, and that’s something Portugal will have to prepare for. All things being said, it would be a surprise if Portugal didn’t win here. They come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.54 with Czech Republic 7.0 and the draw is 4.6 at the time of writing. In my opinion given the likely Czech Republic tactics, the best result for them is a 0-0 draw. I can see them being very negative, and obviously that does make the goal markets interesting. Under 2.5 goals is trading 2.16 and Both Teams Not To Score is 1.95 which in my opinion is effectively a Portugal clean sheet. I do feel Portugal will have to work hard for a win here, but any early goal will see Portugal fully on top. Both Teams Not To Score is tempting because I feel Czech Republic will offer little going forward, but I’d have Portugal sub 1.5 and I’m very confident on them starting their tournament with a win. They are worth a five star NAP in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Portugal to beat Czech Republic at 1.54 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
