That was one of the biggest shocks domestically in Europe this season, we might not see a bigger price win to be honest. Bochum desperately needed that result too given they are in the relegation battle, and they come into this game sitting in the relegation playoff spot. They are five points behind St Pauli and unlikely to close that gap.
They have a better attacking figure compared to St Pauli, but they’re conceding far more goals but it feels like the best hope for Bochum now is that relegation playoff spot. With a draw for Bayern after that loss to Bochum; maybe the door is a little ajar in the title race? The gap now is six points and Bayern will be busy with some massive Champions League fixtures too. I don’t see that gap being closer, but from a Leverkusen point of view they just have to keep winning games and see what happens. Things could get very nervy for Bayern if they throw in another loss soon!
Leverkusen have played some excellent football this season; they are clearly behind Bayern but at the same time they are miles ahead of everyone else. They have an average xG created of 1.85 which is an impressive figure on its own, Bayern are higher at 2.15 though. Again, they have an impressive average xG conceded at 1.17 – the only side better is again Bayern at 0.80. Bochum have been very sloppy at the back this season; they’ve conceded an average of over two goals per game and they have the fifth worst defensive figure too. I feel Leverkusen can cover the handicap here, and the 1.73 -1.5 goals is a confident bet to kick start our weekend!
