BUNDESLIGA FRIDAY: The Ultra previews BAYERN MUNICH v GLADBACH with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BAYERN MUNICH V GLADBACH
7.30pm Friday night football from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week comes from the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich host Gladbach! This should be an entertaining game, but if the market is to be believed it will be very one sided. Bayern are trading as the red-hot favourites at 1.15 with Gladbach 18.5 and the draw is 12.0 at the time of writing. That 1.15 is one of the shortest prices from anywhere in Europe this weekend; fair to say most football fans will be expecting a comfortable home win here!
Bayern come into this one absolutely flying. Their dramatic win over Dortmund last weekend in Der Klassiker only underlined just how far ahead of the rest of the Bundesliga they are right now – and they are well on their way to another title. It was always likely to work out this way when Bayer Leverkusen sold their stars and Xabi Alonso left. It is disappointing that when a German side gets competitive with Bayern, they always seem to sell their stars – the same thing happened with RB Leipzig a few years ago. There was no one to stop Bayern from running away with the title this season. When you look at the underlying numbers, Bayern are simply in a different class to everyone else in the Bundesliga. Their average xG created of 2.30 is the best attacking figure in the Bundesliga by a mile.
The next best is Stuttgart with 1.80. That is a gap of 0.50 between first and second in the xG table, and it tells you everything you need to know about how dominant this Bayern side has been in attack. Harry Kane has been absolutely sensational – the goals have been flowing all season; he must be glad he left Spurs looking at what they are going through at the moment! At the back, their average xG conceded of just 1.01 is by far the best defensive figure in the league as well. They have just been on a different planet this season. With the Bundesliga title in the bag, it does give them a big edge in the Champions League latter stages – we saw with PSG last season, the ability to rest players deep into the season is absolutely key. Compare that to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City locked in the title race in the Premier League.
Gladbach are having a miserable season. They sit in mid-table, but they are only actually three points off the bottom three. Their average xG created of just 1.30 is the third worst attacking figure in the division, so they aren’t far away from a relegation battle. Their defensive numbers are equally worrying – their average xG conceded of 1.66 is also in the bottom three defensive figures – they actually couldn’t complain if they did slip into the relegation zone! There aren’t many positives with Gladbach to be honest, and this will be a case of how many goals can Bayern score rather than will they actually win.
Gladbach have been leaking chances all season and Bayern are the last side you want to face when your defensive numbers are poor. Given how poor Gladbach have been in attack with the third worst figure in the Bundesliga, and how solid Bayern have been at the back with the best defensive figure, a Bayern clean sheet is a tempting bet, but Bayern do like to play such an open game and they could easily ease off 3-0 or 4-0 up. I feel Bayern -2.5 goals at 2.0 is a better option compared to Both Teams Not To Score at 2.07.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Bayern Munich -2.5 goals to beat Gladbach at 2.0 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
